Doggies supporters are cute, aren't they?
They want all of Bont, Richards, Naughton and Darcy in the team, yet they still have to win on the weekend to make the top 8.
IMO, Richards and Naughton should be in, Bont in the squad, and Darcy on the fringe of the squad (just in or just out).
This is a slightly imprecise way of measuring player value as you're over-stating the impact of not playing games, but you also shouldn't be measuring players on a per-game average as missing games logically also diminishes value.Of my stats this year,
These are the highest scoring players overall. Bont makes it by getting to 17 games which was my cutoff.

Yep, this is fair and reasonable. This is a slightly imprecise way of measuring player value as you're over-stating the impact of not playing games, but you also shouldn't be measuring players on a per-game average as missing games logically also diminishes value.
You shouldn't be rating a player 0 for missing a game, you should be rating a player at replacement level (ie the reserves-level player that comes in also gets some stats), because a player's value is the difference in actual output and replacement level output, as opposed to that and literally zero.
Bontempelli jumps up the rankings in "sum of total" on that basis, about the 7th best player in the league by my measure. He is neither the most valuable player in the competition (how can he be, he missed more than 20% of the season), but nor is he outside the top 15, which measuring totals would also suggest.

He is pretty much playing FF in our team.Easily. Question is whether the selectors pick him as a key position player (which he isn't) so they can fit more smalls/mids in, or if they pick another tall to keep Jeremy Cameron company and Gunston in the pocket.
Last year was three talls, year before was two.

Probably shows how shit Bevo is really.I thought David King nailed the AA midfield last night. In particular, Holmes over Smith on the wing.
C: M.Holmes, M.Bontempelli, H.McCluggage
R: M.Gawn, N.Anderson, E.Richards
The chip on the shoulder you have with us generates its own gravitational pull. They think they are Geelong.
Won't be until awards night if I am not mistaken.Rd. 23 votes haven't been released yet.

Always Geelong on the brain. Inferiority complex??
i will admit i am biased but slightly surprising seeing clark in so many teams.
zorko or even bailey dale are far more damaging distributors off half back and having better seasons for mine.
If any Hawthorn supporter of any generation that didn't croak before 70's has any sort of inferiority complex over any other club in the land, then I'll personally clob them on the back of the head with a baseball bat. Seriously. The chip on the shoulder you have with us generates its own gravitational pull.

Rankine ain’t making it nowNot a gambler, nor is this a perfect science by any stretch (Richards as a defender lol), but if the bookies were picking the team:

So their team would be something like:
FB: Worrell - Taylor - Clark
HB: Richards - Wilkie - Wanganeen-Milera
C: Smith - Dawson - McCluggage
HF: Rankine - Thilthorpe - Pickett
FF: Elliott - Cameron - Gunston
RR: Gawn - Anderson - Daicos
IC: Rowell - Bontempelli - Holmes - Serong/Grundy (depending on if they do two rucks)
Too many mids, but not awful I suppose.
Yeah we've heard this sad old story. You won a whole heap of flags thanks to the abused and flawed zone system. Worth about a pinch of shit really. If any Hawthorn supporter of any generation that didn't croak before 70's has any sort of inferiority complex over any other club in the land, then I'll personally clob them on the back of the head with a baseball bat. Fadge you say this like you are 5 wins ahead of us,Doggies supporters are cute, aren't they?

I'm not promoting 4 x Collingwood players for AA.Fadge you say this like you are 5 wins ahead of us,
If we win and you lose this week we will finish above you
Bont and Richards will both be in the team Naughton/Darcy will both be in the squad and either can push for the team as well
Dale will be in the squad as well not the team despite being 9th we are 2 wins off 2nd and have the 3rd best % in the comp didn't realise there was a cap on how many players a team can have for the squadI'm not promoting 4 x Collingwood players for AA.
N. Daicos and Elliott get in.
J. Daicos on the fringe.
Which is a similar number to what the Doggies should get.
Oops, I forgot about Bailey Dale... I suspect you think he should be in as well?
Our results are measured in team success, yours more the individual stuff. The chip on the shoulder you have with us generates its own gravitational pull.

10 years of no team success and counting.
That's good money for Zorko. If only I gambledNot a gambler, nor is this a perfect science by any stretch (Richards as a defender lol), but if the bookies were picking the team:

Holmes has been WAY better and is barely in any of these sides
In general or in the last 4 weeks?
Holmes was a passenger on the weekend, Smith was one of our best.
Overall there’s not much between them but Smith has had more standout games
