It’s not that simple, we should be trying to keep him, if for nothing else than maximising his value. Why? Keep him there when he clearly doesn't want to be there?
Your approach would see him out the door for a first plus Florant.

The reverse approach with Ryan O'Keefe probably won Sydney a flag with his Norm Smith in a very tight grand final 4 years after his trade request was rejected. Why? Keep him there when he clearly doesn't want to be there?
Yeah, dont be reactive. Park everyone in the waiting wait bay and make them wait.So it will COST CARLTON LESS to play him VFL or development league.
Curnow and his management has dropped a big dump on Carlton in PUBLIC FASHION - there is only ONE RESPONSE TO THAT.

and backgammon - that is where the no move works best- because the dice roll is a big part of the game and what makes it far more 'real life' than chess - time and timing are your two big levers.also works on the dancefloor
This reads like someone who didn't watch his last month of footy this year. He's got every tool you'd want in a modern wing, body permitting. He ain’t it. As much as he looks great on paper, it really doesn’t match up from what the vision shows. From what I’ve seen, he’s a contest to contest mid. We already have that in Jagga, Cooper and all our mids really. He isn’t good under pressure so for all the highlights he has, there’s a down side to him. All he’ll end up as is a depth option for us, especially with his injury history. Big no.
In fact, majority of the players we have been linked to according to the meeeeeeeeedya is so underwhelming. We need to find players under 25 who have actually shown something for a decent period of time, say 2-3 years. For example, Tom Powell from North, Flanders from GC, Cooper Sharman from the Saints, McInernery from the Swans. These are the types we should be at the front of queue for offering overs to bring them to our club. I am literally praying that Chris Davies has this sort of vision when he comes over during trade period.
Which quote is this from Kennedy? I remember him saying they do a lot more skills work but I haven't heard anyone talk of Carlton's training as anything less than extremely high intensity. David King in fact said we train as hard as any team he's seen and he wonders if that's a cause of our injury issues. This is just form the outside looking in - but I reckon it’s telling that Kennedy said how much harder he’s trained at the dogs.
Yet our lot are full of factions and some are waging constant personality wars with the coaching staff.
Like if you walk into the Dogs and they are all training their arses off - to a standard higher than you’re used to - then you’re not going to be the one player who questions it. You’ll jump on board and be part of that culture.
We don’t seem to have that cohesive investment.
ROK and Charlie seem like two very different personalitiesThe reverse approach with Ryan O'Keefe probably won Sydney a flag with his Norm Smith in a very tight grand final 4 years after his trade request was rejected.
Amazingly enough. Not always. Top half / top third of a list tends to but the rest don't seem to get that luxury.Pretty sure future CBA increases would get baked into contracts when signed.
Interesting but I guess it would only impact players with longer term deals.Amazingly enough. Not always. Top half / top third of a list tends to but the rest don't seem to get that luxury.
Or 7.4%/year![]()
I'd have thought it the other way around, the higher end, expensive deals stick to what they are and the lower ones adjust to the inflation of the cap. It would be the advantage for clubs offering long term expensive salaries, knowing inflation will make them more affordable longer term.Amazingly enough. Not always. Top half / top third of a list tends to but the rest don't seem to get that luxury.
woudl be 6.5% per yearSo you going with 7.4% increase per year equals 37% over 5 years?![]()
No, the higher profile ones have the negotiation position to push for it.I'd have thought it the other way around, the higher end, expensive deals stick to what they are and the lower ones adjust to the inflation of the cap.
I have naughty children and the naughty corner does not work.Sometimes naughty children need to be put in the corner of the room facing the wall and wearing a dunce's hat - not to help the naughty child- but to help the rest of the class understand that there are consequences to actions. He can go and surf all day every day for the next 4 years or get his management to find a deal that makes Carlton supporters and the Club happy to see the backside of him - or he can come back apologise for being a total DH, STFU and play his best week in week out.

I have probably said enough on the topic alreadyWon’t feel good if I’m right anyway.
Thanks for letting me express myself and hope our club succeeds this trade period.
You pay peanuts you get monkeys![]()
Yes because of the cba.
Hey ODN, came from a teammate of Bickley last weekI saw that floated. Bickley wasn't it? It was spitballing, not actually based on any info.
Many contracts have the CBA increase already written into them.37% Increase
650k x 1.37 = 890k
1.2m x 1.37 = 1.64m
Correct me if I'm wrong

I feel the club has been it's own worst enemy here.About ****en time. Charlie comes across as the kid who has never been told "no" and gets away with whatever he wants. Sounds like he has been thumbing his nose at the club a bit thinking "they wont dare get rid of me over the coach or coaches".
Wrong. We are the only team that has a Grandfather, Father, Son flag all at the one club.
