7th prelim for the Cats in a decade. Hosted in 2016, 2022, 2024, 2025. Away prelims in 2017, 2019 & 2020.
15 Prelims since 2004.

(2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025)

Amazing consistency.

Cats were cleaner and they killed the clearances in the first half and should have probably won by more. Classy in the contest.

Lachie Neale clearly underdone and looked cactus and you feel for him.

Suitcase was well negated. Nothing against Darcy Fory but surely the Big O has to play next week.

And if they are 4 of the best umpires we have the game is in big trouble.

Witts, Meek, Cameron, De Koning, Gawn, Jackson, English, Xerri, Marshall, Grundy, Briggs, Nankervis are all good rucks.

B grade ruckman are reserved for players such as Fort, Goldstein (far too old), Draper, Stanley, Flynn, Sweet, O'Brien & Visente. Sean Darcy was once a good ruckman but he's borderline at best these days.

And most of those aren't in the 8.

Your mob hasn't had a good ruck since Brad Ottens, yet your very annoyingly contending every single year

Haha who was the maggot gifting Rayner as many shots as he wanted in Q2? Won't be umpiring the rest of the finals series you'd imagine.

Kudos to the Brisbane posters early in the thread, they were right, they stood no chance tonight.

He's the worst umpire of the 16 remaining. I'd be shocked if he makes best 8 next week

That soft draw really held the Cats back in the end...

The soft draw was an advantage in my mind. It meant that Geelong could rest their players and manage their minutes compared to Brisbane who were playing five of their last six games against top 9 teams and were to play the strongest line ups they could to keep winning.

What I wasn't sure was where Geelong's form was truly at against the other premiership contenders, but I think tonight we'll and truly answered that question.
