Chris Scott is very smart. Avoided calling out the shocking umpiring. But hinted that the AFL need to look at the laws.

Why should an incident 150 m off the ball result in a free kick at the other end of the ground and certain goal? It wasn't a Free Kick After Disposal situation. Brisbane didn't have the ball. A free kick at the position of the ball would seem fair.

And why is a free kick after a goal paid at the position of the offence? Pay the free kick at the centre circle.
How would you determine which frees were taken where they occurred (as all frees are now) and which ones went to the centre circle?

We lost the hit outs 39 to 52 against our dumped vfl part time forward ruck who had zero back up support which is unheard of in the modern game. Some perspective please.

Around the ground he was good. But only marginally better than Fort.
He was more influential than Fort

There used to be some violent off the ball incidents so it goes back to those days.

Poppa Fagan was very complimentary in his presser, despite looking like he was about to cry.
He said they over handballed instead of kicking and we were too quick on it.
Simple enough, but ain't pressure grand.
I did say they were going to lose at half time because he forgot his cow cud he usually chews on.
He just looked confused.

He looked like an 85 year old man trying to activate an iPhone.

Crazy to think half the side who ran out last night didn't play in the grand final 3 years ago (Bowes, Clark, Dempsey, Holmes, Humphries, Mannagh, Martin, Mullin, Neale, O'Sullivan and Smith).

Who says you need to bottom out to rebuild?

Wow, the Cats blew me away. That third quarter in particular, and the way Max Holmes took control of the game, was one of the most amazing performances I've seen from this club. And it wasn't as if Brissie didn't have a crack, play badly, or choke; it was purely that Geelong was the superior side out there. The pressure they brought to the game was elite stuff. Everyone contributed. I can only hope the Cats can keep this up and take it all the way to the end. Brilliantly coached and brilliantly played. Another prelim ahead of us. God, I love this club.

The results of the Umpire Review Panel are in. Umpire 33 Brent Wallace has been found guilty of the following offence:

Reportable Offence: gross incompetence

Victim Player: the entire Geelong Football Club, its supporters and the football world in general

Quarter: 2nd

Grading: Careless umpiring High impact High contact (brain)

Sanction: 5 weeks (never to umpire another finals game)

Early Plea: reduced to 4 weeks for an early plea of Stupidity and Bias

Not bad for a bloke that was going to be snapped in half in his first game.
I have been around here for a while.

And the crap and ridicule that Blitz copped at the beginning of his career in the cesspool that is the main board and bay 13 was next level. Probably the worst that I have seen any player cop.

Who’s laughing now bitches?

What a champ he has been (and continues to be).

Only tiny negative was not giving Clark more of a run.

Giving him only 2 minutes at the end doesn't tell us anything one way or the other.
I don’t think we are at a stage where the coaching group are needing this-they know what Knevitt and Clark provide and will select as needed.

Fans want to see more and want that opportunity to prove they are more than we’ve seen, but the coaching group wouldn’t be thinking an additional 15-20 mins of Clark adds anything.

In my opinion the way we select- A breakout Qtr and he still gets replaced by Duncan or Knevitt if the role required changes in two weeks.

If you couldnt see the influence blitz had on the game when it was up for grabs then I don’t think we can help you.

Fort wasn’t bad, but he was not influential at all. Blitz was near the top of the list for reasons why we were killing them.

Hit outs? We talkin bout hit outs?

Throw as many meaningless stats as you want. It doesn’t change what we saw and what happened.

On the topic, been skipped mostly but

A kind word for Connor O'Sullivan. The kind of game where appropriate kid could drop his bundle but he was steady enough for some intercept marking and good ground level involvements.

Impressed
When he is able to play a looser more attacking backline role he is very good.

I do worry that a team might try and isolate him and he would exposed, but that certainly didn’t happen last night. Stewart back healthy and j Henry being j Henry is a game changer for COS.

Anyone tell me how Bambi, the passenger, the shittruck with 40 of the shittiest games known to man. The worst player getting regular games in the AFL do in his 41st game.
If it's Oisin, then in his 41st game he turned hugh McCluggage into Who McClugagge and kicked a great goal to boot. It's a small vocal minority that have potted him relentlessly and they're the same posters who were quick to go after MOC in his early days as well. Not all of us have this 19th century No Irish need apply kind of policy

Who did the job on Charlie Cameron?
