Why not now? If we're that horrible and in such a poor position.
I can't believe we have 2 people 31 years of age in our bnf. Should just fold now.
Because you’re in the same boat as the eagles 2 years ago, everyone can see it’ll only get worse short term but you haven’t been shit long enough to qualify for assistance.

I’d give Richmond assistance now to try and prevent it personally but the AFL won’t.

If you don’t see something wrong with having 2 players under 25 in the top 12 of the second last team, I can’t help you.

Explain how were in the same boat as WC 2 years ago

I'd be very disappointed in 2 years if we went to the afl and asked for assistance.
It would be only 7 years from our last flag.
Whilst it would be hilarious to see Richmond ask for assistance after 3 flags, Brisbane did exactly that in the '10's and got help.

Having said that, if the state of the draft wasn't a complete and utter debacle, clubs have to basically rely on academy/genetic lottery to get some kind of leg up because the draft is incapable of doing that currently.

Precedent was set with North, why would you not ask and disadvantage yourself against clubs that received assistance.
No problems with clubs asking mate - genuinely think if it’s there why not. Every club has a different leg up to others (many have more than others).

I personally feel the premiership factor is so large in my view and it is a different precedent. I’d give my club being this bad if it meant I had seen a flag this decade. There are swings and roundabouts. North hadn’t won a flag for 20+ years when we got assistance.

It is an attempt at equalisation but the competition is never going to be equal and a singular end of first pick to WC isn’t going to change anything, so I really don’t have a qualm about it, and I think it is more abhorrent that Brisbane is better set up for the future than West Coast despite finishing consistently at the top end of the competition.

It suggests that the team has previously done better, not that they will continue to do so.

Look at WC/North last season to this one.

Also have a look at Richmond’s B&F results, seriously dire times ahead.
It's almost like our B&F voting system favours those playing most games? Given every player gets a rating from 0-5 every single game, then yeah.....funnily enough playing games helps:

TT: 21 games
Vlastuin: 22
Hopper: 23
Miller: 23
Nank: 22
Campbell: 22
Banks: 22
Ross: 23
Broad: 22

So when McCauliffe, Lalor, Hotton, Artmstrong, Smillie, Sims, Faull, Gibcus, Clarke, MRJ, Tresize, Young, Balta, Ralphsmith all miss 7+ games mostly through injury, then lo and behold....they don't finish high in the B&F.

Who woulda thunk it..........

Yes it is ya silly
Statement of Fact lol

Top 8 next year you reckon?
Wonderful question. 9-13 next year (I reckon)... can't see finals personally. Yeah after (2027) we should be thereabouts, we're still a few preseasons away.

But as you very well know, shit happens along the way you can't control. For example, this year was: constant injury to our best small defensive options.

Archer, Goater, Hardeman all missed games. They could be ok together, if they get a decent run at it.

YOu sound like Kane Cornes with your use of stats.......2 players under 25yo in the B&F.......or....

I'd prefer ......5 x players 26yo or under.

Prestia came 10th having played 12 games 🤣, less than Trainor, Brown, Faulk, Trezise, Sonsie, same as Ralph Smith, one more than Lalor/Dow.

Kind of ruins your argument.

Was north the first team to apply for a priority pick?

Hilarious like how West Coast went cap in hand?

No, I don’t think we will beg like you guys.

Pyke pretty much admitted in his proposal that the club got it wrong and the right people were now in place.

We will take our medicine and not blame injuries, travel, the VaFL for our situation.

Looking forward to seeing our six first rounders from last year and two from this year start to push into the side in 2026.

Bookmarked, when you’re bottom 2 in 2027 you’ll be receiving handouts.
