Excuse my ignorance. But if a player is on a per game payment and there are less games, surely they can afford more players.

$90,000 divided by 18 equals $5,000 per round.
$90,000 divided by 16 equals $5,625 per round.

Div 3 is $80k, my understanding is that the $80k is $80k whether it is 18 or 16 rounds. Div 3 has just been lucky in recent years that tehre has been ability to have a higher per game spend based on it being a 16 game season.

That is also assuming that IF it were 18 rounds that the NFNL would have kept it at previous levels. Maybe IF it were 18 last year they may have made it $80 or $85k instead of $75k

Would be interesting to see the same cap across ALL divisions, but also I guess 'part' of the incentive for clubs to play the highest division.

Think only Lalor would be under, 16 games @$80,000 by 22 players - $227 ea. as average, don't think the other 10 teams could achieve that.

If Power are over the cap then Hoes are double it. Laurimar has 2 recent Div 1 players on their list, well past their prime, Fitz and Donaldson. Rest are young home grown players, young players from other teams or older players or Div 2/3 transfers. Hoes have raided top end talent from Div 1 senior and reserves clubs and other ex VFL, league reps from bush. Yes they will take a little less to play with mates but no chance they are under no matter what chump says.. Brown paper bag orders at the hoes has gone up I’ve heard..

I dont think it would matter what I say as I would have NFI at club level, but looking forward to the year as a member, to see how we go and drink a few frothies!
