Whitlock I can see being very good this year.
Berry is still all talk until season starts.
The lack of forwards was talking about the crows match this week not for the season.
who are we missing up forward besides georgiades?

It’s probably a good opportunity for lord and Whitlock's to put their hands up for round 1. Only one will be there against the kangas, so it’s going to be an interesting watch. Lord seems to be behind but that could change with a bag tonight.

I haven't been this excited for a practice game with Adelaide since we saw Jack Watts :)

PORT Adelaide recruit Jack Watts has won over the Power faithful with an outstanding six-goal haul in the club's final hit-out before the start of the home and away season.

Watts – often maligned during his 153 games at Melbourne - looked right at home in his new surroundings as he spearheaded a 26-point victory against cross-town rivals Adelaide in their JLT Community Series encounter at Alberton Oval on Saturday.

Lots to look forward to.

Mead and Marshall in the backline.
Can Berry and Brodie keep up their form?
The two Jacks in the forward line.
The Hornet is back.
Ramm playing on the deadly Thilthorpe.
Checking out Durdin.
The overall gameplan and how we are able to implement it.

Reasonable squad, focusing on the younger or recently repositioned players where some positions are still up for grabs with Ramm/Marshall and Visentini. Perhaps even Mead in defence, who I can't imagine is on the round 1 whiteboard yet.

Presumably next week's team gives more indications of the thinking for round 1.

Ramm on thilthorpe will be a great watch. He might be about to learn what the big league is all about.

This team could not be more indicative of the current thinking for round 1. Mead in defence one I'm excited to see after he was very good in the internal. Hoping he can show he's capable of nullifying their small forwards who have always troubled us in the past.

Interesting squad. He clearly wants to look at a few. Not sure what to read into some that weren't picked. He might give them a go against West Coast then decide who he wants going into round 1.

I won't be able to watch the full thing live today, but I am keen to watch the replay. I remember this game last year I literally chose not to watch it on the back of the succession plan call.

I will be pissed off if Mead gets games ahead of Lai once the real stuff starts.

Even with the change of position Mead is still a very ordinary player at AFL level.

Lord kicking a bag. I guess there is always a chance of a statistical outlier

I don’t rate Mead at all but he was really impressive in the intra club in that new role.

Let’s hope this is a 100% different to that Mount Barker disaster this time last year.

Was that the six quarter game where the Port media team didn't report the crows' sixth quarter score so it didn't look so bad?

I reckon this is more important than the result.

Scaffolding is important. As is Richo calling a point as the ball is going back to the centre square for a ball up.
