Rookie me central still have him listed as a North NGA player (same as Archie Devine). I think this is the last year we have access to Tas based talent through our NGA.

Coincidentally the year you'll need to donate a kidney to list an NGA.

Jess Bula may have been the young fella who was seen at training a few times over the summer. He has been to our academy training sessions over the years. Kid is built like a brick outhouse!

186cm physical, tough, with a bit of speed....where do we sign?

That's him for sure.

My thoughts exactly.. our timing as a club is impeccably skewed..

Sill reckon we need a good witch doctor to do a curse-breaking ceremony

Resembles the Beast.. is young Jess a Father-Son option?.

Just on our Academy Prospects, Lual Deng (2028 eligible) from Hoppers Crossing also made the under 16's futures squad for the western jets.

I believe we may have another two potential NGA prospects in that same cohort with Diing Maye and Jarmayne Rowan-Seiualii also both from Hoppers Crossing.

sounds like we’ve done a lot of work with the Sudanese community in our NGA space, is that through the Huddle or just a bit of ‘luck’ through zoning?

"Tasmania, however, will have access to Tasmanian talents from 2027, with North Melbourne retaining access to players in the state through to the end of 2026."

So this year is our last.

What did Jason Mccartney say on fireball this morning about his young fella??? Apparently kingy put it on him about where young Aidan will end up??

Yep.

Blakey
Kelly
Cochrane
McCartney
NAS

We're doing well.

While this club kicks that many own goals we could win a self-pawning golden boot award, we really have been royally screwed with some weird poor luck too.

For lightning to strike twice when some talented father-sons taller than Peter Dinklage finally turn up is a special new category of wtf.

We’ve been running NGA clinics alongside the Werribee VFL club for a couple of years now. Obviously those clinics aren’t the be all and end all for development but they’d definitely help.

So it’s probably a combination of both luck and effort.

Yep. Tapped into Werribee's local networks out here.

It's ridiculous and that's just the cream, let's dig a bit deeper;

  • Donald McDonald and Robert Scott's boys being the only kids we can access and of sound body.
  • Anthony Stevens kid not being Anthony Stevens-like.
  • Archer's kid not being of sound body.
-Carey having Girls (this has now changed thank ****)
-McKernan not having kids.
-We're relying on the off spring of Andrew Demetrio.
-Winston retiring after a knee injury, has there ever been another player retire after 1 ACL?
- we got charity selections but had to Trade them; has any other club had to do this since or before?

....

Curtesy of the great RF

Every draft we were involved in while we were anchored to the bottom 2 of the ladder was diluted by Academy and F/S selections, now that we are looking to improve a bit, they’ll bring in a new rule where bottom 5 clubs gets compensated if there is a Academy selection in the top 5. While we had 6 consecutive drafts where that don’t happen

.....I'll keep adding to this as more comes back to me. My brain is like Colby McKercher trying to defend - all the planets need to align before I even consider it.

Good timing.

They changed the NGA rules so Essendon got access to Kako, then they altered them again so we couldn’t get a free hit with Ryley Sanders.

Ok cool. Any future picks from any player trades (if we can't get into 2026 draft) or pick swaps should really be about gathering some more selections in 2028 for that reason with F/S and NGA kids.
2027 we've got F/S's Demetriou, Rocca (will surely pick Pies) and Makepeace. Should be able to cover that with our picks.
