Western Australian State Cricket Team: Treble Winners. Again

Bancroft 205* and carried his bat in the first innings for Gloucestershire.

25* at stumps on day 3 in the second innings.

Yeah saw that, hasn't had a great year at Gloucestershire with a surprisingly high number of early dismissals but that looks to have been a terrific knock and backed it up with a characteristically patient 72 in the second.

For Yorkshire, they owe a lot to SOS. Saved their bacon in going down to Division Two with an unbeaten last day ton to save the match. Made 78 in the first innings as well.

Nice batting average of 112 for the season. Good to see him in form.

Really looking forward to the shield season. This is our year.

strange that behrendorff isn't playing the first game against vic on Friday, but henriques is captaining NSW for the first game against us on Sunday, yet both are listed for the India t20 squad?

WA is definitely proving to be too good for Hong Kong. Won by about 120 runs in the first game and has set a target of 223 in today's T20 (shortened due to early rain).

Short hit 95 off about 50 balls and Mitch Marsh was hitting sixes for fun. Think he finished with 60-odd off 20-odd balls.

Just looking at your plausible XI, is Bancroft a chance to keep round 1? With 7 bats like Klinger, Marsh x2, Cartwright, Stoinis and Turner, it may be your best line-up.

I personally wouldn't have Klinger in the team.
Fair enough. Or you could legitimately only play 3 bowlers with Marsh/Stoinis/Cartwright/Turner in your top 7. Something like:

Klinger
Bancroft
S Marsh
Cartwright
Turner
Stoinis
M Marsh (c)
Inglis (+)
Agar
Behrendorff
Richardson

If not, slide D'Arcy Short into Klinger's spot and move him down to 9

Marsh isn't bowling and Stoinis/Cartwright/Turner are not good bowlers.

1. Bancroft
2. Stoinis
3. Cartwright
4. S Marsh
5. Turner
6. M.Marsh*
7. Inglis+
8. Agar
9. Coulter-Nile
10. Behrendorff
11. Mackin

Good luck to the selectors for the next match. They lose Behrendorff and Tye, but gain Stoinis and Cartwright. Creates quite a few balance issues, trying to fit everyone in.

S Marsh
Klinger/Cartwright
Bancroft +
Mitch Marsh
Turner
Stoinis
Wells
Short
Richardson
Moody
Mackin

We’ll likely be going with a whole bunch of all-rounders. The Australian way. Seems like a waste having such a good batsman like Short at 8 though.
