Means some of the duds will get a week because we can’t drop more than 5

Well if we’re going to lose anyway next week why not just go all out, drop a whole heap and tell the kids, listen we don’t care if you win or not, we just want to see you play your best so we can see what we’ve got to work with this year.

All these spots are up for grabs, see who wants them badly enough?

IMO the only players who’s spots should be safe for next week (or when they get back from suspension the week after) are Cotchin’s, Lynch’s, Nankervis’, Grimes’, and Macca’s.

I doubt Balta will play Dimwit said we don't need a second ruck so I guess Butler will be relief rucking.
I’d like to see Balta playing well too, we’ve lost our General in defense...give him a chance to work it out before you start dogging the coach, they came up with an idea that put us as the team to beat.
It’s rnd 2 and we’re 1-1

We all do, however, the game is far more fulfilling when Richmond and Collingwood are up and about, has been since I started following the Tiges in 1967.
The wins are sweeter and the losses are so bitter! It's was supporting top level sport should be like.
GWS next week and if we lose it will only hurt because of the points lost... last night hurt badly because it was more than just points lost.
Oh you know what would be sweet? Seeing Collingwood get the Minor Premiership and us sneaking in at 4th only to beat them in the QF after Rance made a shock return. They then get straight-setted while we go on to win the Premiership.

Had nearly 24 hours , to settle down calm down and gain my own composure
Was last night a mere aberration, or a sign of things to come?
I think it's an aberration, but dimmas stuborness of only playing one ruck really does concern me especially with the new 666 rule.
I'm confident we will b b b b bounce back from last night, and give a good
Showing next week against the giants, have no idea how the team will be selected
But we need 4 definite changes May be 5
Outs - jack, Dylan, brandon, Mav,,, maybe butler? Or Lambert
In - Moore to replace jack
In Garth to replace Dylan
In - Houli if fit for brandon if not naishy
In - Balta for Mav
In - Bolton for lambert

The coach needs to be judged, everyone here knew we needed a second ruck against Grundy.
We lost the game before it was even played.
Buckley was geeing up his players all week, for us it's status quo nothing to see here.

Yes he is as accountable as the players, however, he has some credits as far as I'm concerned and do we really need the "dimwit" calls.
The second ruck was way, way down on the list of reasons that we lost.
The poor decisions and skill executions when in really good positions impacted far more than the second ruck.

what has dimma actually come up with?

he copied the hawks
his wife told him his head was up his arse
the players came up with the defensive pressure game and the recruiters told him it would work
leppa came up with the small forward line
clarko told him how to beat the crows
jack into the ruck is straight out of clarko’s cookbook as well

im at a loss what this bloke does other than be a daddy. his head is up his bum again. change or die

Sure, he needs to back his judgement and choices
Lets back the Footy D, you can still judge him and speak for everybody after he gets a chance to handle a problem he’s not had to deal with before

Just watched the last quarter again, and from a non biased view point I analysed a few things.

First of all: the first goal Collingwood kicked through Cox was because of poor effort. the clearance was a clean handpass - long kick to Cox who had 5 Richmond players in his vicinity and only 2 make an effort to stop him. No excuse there. Set the standard.

Secondly, the umpiring was atrocious. The double standards dished out during the match was comical. We received 1 free kick the whole quarter. (Previously in the game Prestia had the ball slapped out of his hand in a tackle and was pinged both times) Same thing happened to Sidebottom 10m out from our goal... nothing happens. Huge momentum and confidence destroyer.

Lastly: I’m not trying to make excuses or put the blame on the umpires for the loss, but be consistent and fair to both teams if you are going to have a fair game. 9-25 free kick differential is a huge disadvantage, to go along with some poor decisions from our ‘star’ players gives us an understanding to how and why we lost. Collingwood were just better structured and came in with a well prepared game plan. It’s almost as if they have designed their team and whole game plan to beat us. Funny.

Richmond simply have to get better and adapt, the small forward line needs to be re-thought. Players like Townsend and Caddy need to play for it to work I feel. And I also get a sense that having Grigg in the team will help Martin mentally, he needs that older ‘brother’ or ‘mentor’ type role model i believe. Could be wrong but we will see how his form goes when Grigg returns.

That’s my take from the game after I settled from the disappointment of losing to Pies once again.

Outs: Weller (Dropped), Riewoldt (Injured), Grimes (if suspended)

Ins: Townsend, Moore, Balta/Garthwaite

(Ellis for Houli if he is fit)

- no point making too many changes just yet, but a lot of players had poor games

Nah i'd rather Geelong finish 1st and we get to play an away QF at the MCG, seeing Derwayne, Wankley and Scott see red while we march to the flag would be sweeter.

Balta will come in for jack
Garthwaite for grimes
Houli for Ellis

Marcov will be lucky because we have lost a heap of experience

You or anyone else is dreaming if you think Ellis will be dropped.

No Rance, now Riewoldt no Grimes for GWS in Sydney and then port away...

1-3 start to the season coming up

Hopefully we will win enough post the bye to make finals (5-8) and can have a crack at the flag next year on a softer draw

Interesting....

Tom Mitchell only got a fine for his head high hit off the ball on Goldstein. I know that's old news but I just learnt that his actual MRO grading was EXACTLY the same as Grimes i.e. intentional, high, low impact yet Tom was only fined.

Not sure how that works.

Might need to get this trending on Twitter.
