Greenwood must be.

We played him off of almost no pre season last year, looks like we don't want to make the same mistake.
Didn’t he finish off high in our B&F, couldn’t have been too bad.

Last year the complaint was playing injured players and in Tex’s case with no preseason.

They seem to be ultra conservative with Greenwood’s fitness.

I'm in no way suggesting Kelly is anywhere near the class of Doedee as an interceptor but only Alex Keath has racked up more intercepts in 2019 and he looks the ideal player to play Doedee's role now Hartigan is back. Kelly plays Luke Brown's role until Browny is ready surely?
I wonder if that's when we drop DMac out

As they should be.

We will pick him when he's ready, he's obviously not quite there yet.

Watching Fog on the weekend gave me thoughts they were right in not putting him back there.

Think with Hunter rucking more and Strachan maybe questionable we'll see him back forward this week.
My thoughts exactly.

This injury could be a blessing in disguise for many reasons, Fog moving back to the front half is one of them.

Seems as I suggested yesterday Greenwood's "managed" minutes in the SANFL could be a sign he is not quite there fitness wise for AFL? Looks pretty clear now that's the fitness guys reckoning.

Where will Greenwood play? (Edit - I don't mean this week obviously)

The stats that guy posted from the Sydney game indicated that we went with a combination out of Crouch, Crouch, Sloane and Gibbs in the centre square exclusively.

Will that mix change if Greenwood is in the 22? Or will he have to play across half forward?
Allows us to rotate our mids except Mrouch up forward & or off a wing at times.

Don't mind us being cautious with players returning from injury.

We weren't cautious with D Mac - rushed him straight back on no form and barely one SANFL trial game.

And now that Gallucci, Greenwood... are coming back and may force D Mac's omission, we have decided to be ultra cautious.

No doubt, but then the Crows were telling porkies a couple of weeks ago saying he needed 1-2 games to get match fit.

Milera was drafted as a forward so we tried playing him as a forward in his first year, how dare we!
Huh?

We drafted Milera being a midfielder long term, but eased him in as a forward.

To be fair it may not have

Many posters have mentioned very similar here

C9 could have got it from here or just thrown it in as a bubble
Actually just after posting that one that you responded to I wondered if the club let it slip now as a gentle reminder to ROB this week that his future 1st Ruck position is not yet secured. Seems unlikely though still worth a thought.

I would have thought its a shit thing to do if they did

''Hey ROB congrats on getting a chance to get some games in, we're backing you big man, oh yeah ignore the Grundy story Tom is going to run with''

Tell me who, apart from Fog, can play the Doedee role? Because Jake Kelly sure as hell can't. We don't need another lock down defender, we need an interceptor.
I think Keath could be a swingman.

Whilst I agree in theory, you have a 10 year pro known almost solely for his professionalism and fitness base, compared to 2 guys who've had multiple interrupted summers. It's also worth noting Mackay did more of the pre season than the other 2.

FWIW I wouldn't have picked DMac either.

My post wasn't a troll they only dropped the name Brodie Grundy after the commercials.
Would be a massive in of course but I won't hold my breath.
CrowCast dropped that one about 5 weeks ago ;)

Watch Dalhaus destroy him

Mackay is the one keeping him out.

Seed coming back means we've reshuffled our structure to keep Dmac in the tram.

Would have been ironic and hilarious to have dropped Mackay after arguably one of his best ever games for us.

Mind you the standard is set so low he didnt have far to cross.

So glad ROB gets another bite at it. Has been extremely unlucky and patient thus far. Hope he tears it too shreds and shows the selectors we can actually drop or rest Sauce even if his leg isn't half falling off.

So how do you see our best line up, when everyone but Doedee is available?

B: Brown, Talia, Laird
HB: Smith, Keath, Milera
C: Seedsman, Mrouch, Atkins
HF: Lynch, Walker, Knight
F: Betts, Jenkins, Greenwood
R: Jacobs, Sloane, Brouch
I: Gibbs, Douglas, Gallucci, Jones

If we need a taller defence, then Hartigan can come in. Fog also needs to play plenty of games.

Would like to see us rotate our smalk forwards, with Jones, McHenry, Stengle & McAdam all managed in their 1st year at the club. Also, means resting older guys where possible.

Davis should get a go & is putting pressure on Lynch.

Hopefully ROB produces & allows us to better manage Jacobs.

Does anyone think Jenkins could move more towards a ruck role. The modern Ruckman is both tall and agile which is definitely Jenkins. Thinking out loud here so bare with me. Could he become a Grundy like player instead of that Tippet type player which he is not... kicks better but lacks that real physical forward marking ability

Need one more defender I reckon.

Kelly in, Douglas out to the line up you named.

Would hope Stengle presses his claim too as the season wears on. Knight, Gallucci, Jones the three who'd be under pressure from him.
