Your boys were.........
Monstered

He was monstrous in his role but SPS was by far the dominant player.

Backs up what I’ve said.

Bizarrely, and this isn’t a knock on Cripps, despite 37 touches he only had 83 metres gained. Did his job and this time had the outside help

What about assisted metres gained? Surely the blokes he's feeding the ball to were doing damage.

Thats right so it very well could be a possibility which is were i was with the comment. Pretty much madness to give your first pick up even for mcgovern cause if it dont work' and im not saying it wont 'it would be a number 1 or 2 pick you give up conceivably.
Lol

He had 25 touches in a half of.football, 35 and a goal to collect the 3 Brownlow votes.

Safe to say you picked the wrong time to pick on his inability to get hands on the ball, maybe you should crawl back under the rock you came out from.
Give it up mate you lose this one.

Just because you’ve watched him run around as a junior doesn’t mean he’s going to stay that same player his whole life. He’s in his 3rd year ffs.
thats is correct, players can adapt .
I look forward to watching SPS gather 30+ touched a game from here on in👍

Right here is one of Carlton supporters biggest misconceptions with regards to their young players

Even through out his junior career the biggest knock on SPS was his inability to get enough of the ball.
Yes fantastic skills and a willingness to tackle but never was he lauded for racking up big possession numbers.
That’s not his game, making the most of what possies he does get is-think Cyril Rioli (just a poorer version)

Yet here now in the AFL Carlton fans expect him to become a 20/25 possession a game player

The epitome of deluded
How'd this one go today?

All I can say to Carlton fans is enjoy today, savour it but don’t get too cocky.

I won’t lie after being up 3-0, the cockiness was refreshing to partake in but it’s quickly gone back downhill.

Both Carlton and Brisbane will be two roller coaster teams in 2019 and 2020, some highs and lows are expected.

Still think they’ll be bottom four and we’ll be bottom 6.

Let's not back track from your original comment, we were deluded to think he could average 20 touches now 3 hours later you have upped it to 30?
Well everyone else seems to basing their opinion on this one game surely I can too then?
Btw it was 25ppg(your parameters, I just based mine on this)
Seriously tho congrats on your first win , think you ll be amazed at what it can do for your teams morale

Like I said you called us deluded for thinking he could get to be a 20 touch avg player and now you are backtracking telling us

I am not picking on you in particular, you just picked the wrong time to say what you did and you have struggled immensely in admitting you were off the mark.

If Carlton had beaten Gold Coast last week then they would've been just one game out of the top eight. The Blues have been a lot better then what their won/loss record suggests.
Contrary if we were any good we would have beaten Sydney and GC. We are 1-4 for a reason.

Even after a good win, it’s still not about the w/l record for us. We caught the Doggies on a bad day today. I thought we played just as well as Port, who were just better, and lost.

More pleasing was seeing a bunch of players step up - SPS, Gibbons, McKay, Plowman, etc.

What was noticeable today was that our best play often involved the kids. Some of our worst involved the older crew (Curnow, Murphy, Thomas), who were still prolific but not damaging.

We have said this is year 1 of the new era and it really feels like that. Probably more noticeable to opposition after a win when everything goes right thiugh

Sorry but Thomas was cooked when traded. Everyone knew it except Carlton. Yes at a time he was a gun but you traded him in knowing well he was injured
Injured yes. Club took a gamble that they could get him back to his best.

I’m not sure picking him up was such a big failure anyway as many seem to make out. In a very trying time the last few years he has been an experienced head who puts his body on the line every week and his kicking is nowhere near as bad as it was when he first got to us.

A gun like we all hoped? No. But he’s actually played some good footy for us. I’ve seen many worse big name recruits.

So to the non-Carlton fans, four rounds in, Carlton is 0-4. Ladder position aside, how many wins (if any) do you see Carlton achieving, and how many thrashings (say 50+ points) do you see Carlton on the end of?
By way of comparison, last year Carlton notched up 2 wins and was beaten by 50+ points in 9 games.

Carlton should still be aiming for 3/4 wins. The trashings come lat

he has been ok. But for the cash he was given when brought it you’d be expecting much more. He has value now no doubt.
