They have $120mil sitting there in relief funds, for cases just like this. The AFL crying poor is, for lack of a better word, rich.

All sports in the world cancelled. Australian sports cancelled despite the same political and medical advice.

This closure was the most predictable thing on earth, and was a needless disruption to the integrity of the season.

There are far more important things than football right now, but that’s no excuse to just drop the bundle and not even try to navigate this intelligently.

They've now hamstrung themselves for trying to schedule a shortened season down the track, as the games would need to have the same playing conditions as Round 1. They'd have a clean slate if they'd never started.
