He's damn good, but two points I would make -

1. He's not particularly economical. That's fine if you are after a wicket-taking strike spinner, but not if you need a bowler to held up an end for 25 overs.

2. He's highly specialised for the WACA. He uses bounce very very well. Take him to the subcontinent and let's see how he goes on low slow turners.

Not sure about that. Corey spent 15 days at a specialist spin camp in India in 2022 before our summer. Seems to coincide with him taking a big step forward in his development. Maybe he will kill it over there?

He's taken 8x4 wicket hauls in 44 FC innings. That's almost 1 in 5 innings he is having a big say.

Not quite 27yo. Not quite a baby as spinners go but still in his development adolescence IMO.

Has a career economy rate of 3.01.
Nathan Lyon is 2.93.
Graeme Swann's is 2.98.

The tally of shield titles since 1977/78 when the six team system began with the introduction of Tasmania, arguably the first time it was truly a national competition.

New South Wales: 11
Queensland: 9
South Australia: 2
Tasmania: 3
Victoria: 10
Western Australia: 12

So three years ago we were level with Queensland, one behind Victoria and two behind NSW

We’re now an outright leader

Nice

With the emergence of some kids and the core of our seniors being in their prime, we could easily add a few more to that tally

In addition to us winning the most in that times since 1977/78, we've also never finished 6th and the last time we finished last was in 1963-64 and it was when it was a 5 team format.

queenslander complaining the first test should be at the gabba. Biggest reason I feel like it isn’t there is due to Ibdia’srecent record there. Honestly don’t see a late nov test in perth being a win
