With pick 15 - reckon they'll bite.

The interesting mechanism is how they make an attractive offer to WB for Dunkley, someone's about to be tapped on the shoulder, or they'll need to go heavily into deficit points wise.

Will need to package up Mcstay compensation & a player of some ilk to satisfy WB demands, maybe Lyons lands at a third club?
I'm hoping it's something like F1, 15 -> Dunkley, 28, 32

Brisbane should be able to pay for Ashcroft and Fletcher with McStay, 28 and 32 and then WB flick us 15 with us sending something back for Lobb

The less priority picks given out, and the lower their value, the better as far as I am concerned.
An F2 can form part of the trade, it doesn't have to be the whole trade. If our list managers are as good as half of you reckon they'll just have to work harder to get just compensation for Logue

Oh man, they suck, so we are going to lose Logue for a future 2nd...
I reckon we demand two Future 2nd round picks. Where is the pick granted straight after their pick?

Logue, Tucker, 72, F3 > F2, F2, 55

We then keep the two F2’s likely to be in the early 20’s.

Trade our own F2> Sharp, 43

Leaving us with 13, 43, 55

What this now means is for us to move on Lobb we will 100% need pick 15. The third round picks above give us a bit to work with in a trade with Bulldogs and say Brisbane as Brisbane need some pts.

Also means we will now favour a pick in 2022 ND for Acres. I think with Acres we will wait for them to sort out other deals like Paddy Dow etc. if they manage to get a pick in 30’s then we can move in their 28. Either that or we upgrade a third rounder for 28.

Surely North Melbourne are going to get more than a Future 2nd/3rd that they have to trade? They've been rabble territory for 3 consecutive seasons now (3 wins 2020, 4 wins 2021, 2 wins 2022).

Look at what the Suns got in 2019. Pick 1 and Pick 20 in 2019, Pick 11 in 2020 and Pick 19 in 2021 as well as a bigger rookie list and the ability to just sign players from their academy without having to match bids for them.

I wanted more for Logue then some random future 2nd.

This is a great result. Definitely within reason.
Would you move 13&15 this year for Jackson or offer up the 13 & F1 ?

That's conjecture.
No Guarantee he's on that money, I reckon it'll be closer to $550k personally

I don't because if we were offering 500k as has been reported then 550k would be less when you factor in the cost of living in Melbourne compared to Fremantle.

Hope not - if bloke is going to turf Freo for an extra $2,291 a month in his paycheck above Freo's offer then Freo are either supremely shit or we've done something on purpose to make him hate Freo.

But an extra $9,166 a month? Bloke would be mad to turn that down - use that properly and that can be turned into generational wealth.

All figures are rudimentary figures of after tax - no excel formulas were used in the creation of this data. :moustache:

The suns are a bit of a special case, though. There's a clear recognition from the AFL that player retention is a major issue, so they went overs with the compensation. I reckon the signing of Clarkson and all the talk of players wanting to go to north has put a ceiling on what they're willing to give, expecting that north are already heading in the right direction. I think it's probably a sound assessment, although I also want more for Logue.

Id go 13,15 and try to get a 2nd back. Keep the F1 if possible. I believe it is a decent draft crop next year

Definitely asking for a second back.
Have heard next years draft is strong but hopefully our picks high so it’s not such and issue.
If there’s a chance BUSSLINGER can slide to 13 we should try and keep it
