Josh Carr's Ruthless Port Adelaide

I'm liking Carr's judgements for the coaching group, and on what he needs, and what the players need. It's still up to Carr to mould a premiership club culture and team but I'm liking it. He's got guys that he knows, and obviously Dew has the merit too, but I like the Reeves appointment as he didn't have connections with him before, and he's recognising merit.

All these excellent appointments are tinged with a feeling of what if we'd broken out of Hinkley inertia years ago, unfortunately it cost some decorated players a real shot at a premiership, some great club people & supporters also passed away in that time while having to witness that garbage. "Who ya gonna get" indeed.. Never stand still.

Wasted years and talent. Now we got to look forward, and hopefully Josh is the man that will get it done, in time. Custodians like Koch don't deserve it, but Josh does, and so I hope many supporters that had walked away (and rightfully so) return to support him in 2026. Got to look forward despite flowers like Koch.

Friendly reminder

Hinkley was always the problem, he didn't want any lodgers in his castle, just servants.

Richardson and Koch buggered up the reappointing of him, but I bet they tried to get people installed around him and were rebuffed.

He was a fungating wound.

Fancy nurse talk for something with a pretty gross description (yes I looked it up :D)

Everything I've listened to in interviews with these new coaches just sounds like we are in for a huge culture change. So clear in their expectations and enthusiasm for the job, confidence in the potential of the players, and all talk about Josh's vision for the future of the club. Certainly the most optimistic I've felt in a long time.

Hinkley was a ****ing cancer
Right? Its even more obvious now than when he was here. The narrative from everyone outside the club was that he saved the joint, that we'd be gone without him. That people were drawn to Ken and not the club. Stayed for him, were recruited because of him.

****en horseshit, it is and always was the club people are drawn to. Ken was holding us back for a decade and we're poorer for it.

Now he's gone and ambitious, capable people are falling over themselves to be a part of the revival.

If feels so good to feel good about our club again!

So far been really impressed by Carr. Only reached October and already some positive moves. Seems like he knew what he wanted to do for a long time now and was itching to get started.
