Unofficial Preview Changes and pre match discussion vs Brisbane - Gather Round

Oh he’s the type of player that you want in any game.

But I’ve been advocating for a while he needs to be more pro actively managed.

He was magnificent yesterday, mainly late. He wasn’t as good from a football perspective as he was first up. He wasn’t moving as well, and there was talk he was limping around post * and he trained at 50% according to Chadwiko

Just think a weekend off will be beneficial
I see the logic.

Chance of success with Wardlaw vs Lions compared to chance of success without is probably about the same, as it will be a whole team effort to win.

Chance of success with Wardlaw vs Richmond compared to chance of success without is probably a bigger delta, as Richmond don't have the same depth and one person can swing a match much more easily.

VIC home game specialist? Lord of War on a no fly list?

We have to cop our whack with X being out so for balance CCJ stays in.

I don't see any changes for this week.
I tend to agree with you, I also think that some posters have been incredibly harsh on CCJ, he is playing a role to the best of his abilities as limited as they may be. I’m hopeful he’ll improve after this hit out against the Blues 🤞

The way Clarko talked about Goad last week I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave him a run this week. Can’t help but feel keeping CCJ in over him just isn’t going to be the difference between winning and losing this one. He’s the future. SA debut a bonus for him too. If he’s fit, give him a look before X comes back.

Why should JK get a game? Sorry but he isnt up to it and I would rather Zurhaar even in bad form
His pressure and running patterns were better.
Was much improved in the VFL.

Also Brisbane has 17 half backs that need attention.

Powell was equally worst in ground with Zurhaar and CCJ. They were really really poor. Was a hard watch
I just watched the replay and completely disagree. Leaving aside CCJ, Pink, Corr and Zurhaar were worst on, Dylan Stephens not much better. I'd rate Powell about the same as Blamires and McKercher, okay but could have been better. To 3/4 time I'd have said Wardlaw and Parker were only marginally better. They all did more good than bad.

I posted that this morning.

Not 4 minutes after the game.

So try again

Can’t believe after such a stirring win , that a minute later ppl are in the changes thread.
Enjoy the ****en , we haven’t had many this decade.

Changes thread is here for a whole week ffs

and four minutes later, you posted this.
Out
CCJ to never return
Camz a big fan but think he’s trying to be a bit to unselfish- ****kng with his game

In

Dawson as first ruck if he’s over his corky
Spargo

I was having a bit of fun—no need to be so defensive.

What does CCJ 6.4 mean?

Thats the top end. No surprise pittonet had the most impact on the ground considering he dominated his position and collected 2 goals.

The fact you thought Dyl Stephens had a shit game doesn’t bode well for you. He was in the bests easily gets Syd votes, might even get best on from the club.

Lol, fair enough I won't agree with it but I guess their view means more than mine. I thought he was fumbly, didn't use it that great, and unfortunately went backwards a bit in hearing footsteps

But what does the number actually mean? It must all be based on some statistical bullshit. Nobody's saying "I think Comben was 0.5 worse than than CCJ, and my rating system goes negative because Tom Powell was that bad"
Comben was fairly average, i’d say below average. He had a few good moments.. how bout that 50? Whatabout bowling over his team mates and carlton scoring from it? How bout giving away free kicks leading to goals? Thats all taken into account.. have a look what Harris Andrews scores as a defender.. anyway, this isn’t about Cobden.

You might think its all bullshit statistics but its accurate and its based on key metrics of what constitutes someone having a good game.

Clearances, rebounds, score involvements, clangers, marks, tackles, UP, CP, Speed, turnovers .. all of it.

And guess what Tommy Powell was beyond shit.

Lol powell literally shit his pants in a contest.. 3rd quarter. Sometimes you need to have an unbiased/objective view on how players perform.

Ive given flowers to those who I keep whipping this weekend. Why? Because I try to have an objective view on North Melbourne.

Well, I'm not going to get into a written dissection on the value of each player's game because I've already spent a few hours watching the game again when I should be doing shit, but basically I rated Comben's game on the vibe of your first paragraph but also taking into account the good stuff he did like winning that ball on the 50m arc, taking marks and laying tackles. I'm not saying he had his best game, but he did his job generally well, and was a **** ton better than CCJ. Like there's a reason Pittonet had a great game and that's because he played huge chunks with a barely VFL standard opponent.
Maybe break down for me how the weighting of those various stats leads to TP getting a negative rating, and tie it in to the actual moments in the game.

I don't see myself as having a non-objective view on Powell. I'm not a fan boy, I'm disappointed he hasn't lived up to the early promise, but I'm not invested in him failing or succeeding more than anyone else.
Just don't agree with the majority view on here about his game yesterday.
