I wonder if fatherhood has softened his outlook a little.
Was thinking about this. A contest against Port (vs Horne Francis) was like first year Alwyn Davey Jr. Didn't even have to put his head over it just needed to make any body contact but stood back and watched. In recent years thought our midfield has looked much better without him - soon as he comes in we generally take a drastic turn for the worse.

Pay his whole contract.

Doesn’t make much sense. Probably just ends up in the VFL. Try and frontload as much as possible and see what happens
We won’t get any picks out of anyone even if we paid most of it imo
No one wants that type of player running through their midfield at that age.

Someone would take him if we were paying a good chunk of salary. What we get for him would be minimal which you would expect. Its football. Clubs love trying to resurrect guys.

Going to be the whipping boy this year because everyone loves Caldwell and Durham but..

Had a game high 8 clearances, our next best was Durham 4, Caldwell 3 and then no one else had more than 2.

In fact he had 4/12 of our center clearances despite having just 19 CBAs vs Caldwell 27, Merrett 24, Durham 22.

Had a game high 13 contested possessions.
Had less turn overs than all other mids (2).

Was far too one pace and seemingly faded out in the second half again, but somewhat expected given how little footy he's played recently.

Bump. Durham finally out of the midfield (and has looked significantly better playing off HF). Parish back at 80% TOG now after getting some continuity in (notice how Draper/Kiddy/Allen, etc. at the Lions took about a month too?). Leading our contested and clearances again today.

Continued to be the whipping boy, hope those who wanted him drop keep up the same energy after todays effort.

I've said a lot of negative things about Parish this season so in the interest of being fair and balanced, I need to give credit where it's due. After our poor first half, he was our best player in the second half (especially that third quarter) and was instrumental in our midfield getting on top.

I think Brad pulled him a side at HT and told him his career was on the line or similar.
Obviously he had a rocket shoved up his ass and he responded.
Or otherwise the whole narrative has been over cooked? Maybe just a very good player out of form after repeated long term injuries? Someone needs to take the blame for the teams losses and who better than an attacking player with poor defence? It was irresistible
