Burns is a much better cricketer than Dean though, so if I were picking between the two I'd take Burns, but it looks like we're not looking at him anyway
If Maddo and possibly Pucovksi are out, I'd look at Burns. We saw what happened with WA when they went too top heavy with kids in the batting department
I reckon the aim would be try and get as close as possible to 350 tomorrow. If we can go into Day 3 with a 100 run lead, puts pressure on WA because they will have to score as they won't be able to hold our for a draw for that long
Siddle in for Boland then. Merlo not in our best side, if Short is available then Kellaway is the unlucky one to miss out IMO. Our top 4 is set in stone now
Yes Stoinis isn't in great form and he could be near the end. But he has produced many great T20 knocks for the Stars and Australia over the last few years, and he is still in the national set up, so clearly Australian selectors also don't think he is 'washed'.
Agree
Only thing that can be improved on is finding a way for internationals to be available for the whole tournament, if they could somehow make an agreement with the UAE T20 league it would be ideal (doubt this would ever happen). We used to have star internationals leaving due to other...
Hopefully when the likes of Warner, Smith, Khawaja, Starc and Hazlewood all retire in the next 2-4 years, they will play BBL as Lee, Warne and Ponting all did. Maybe that could see a spike in the BBL
I know CA requested after this summer for our final test of each summer to be the Sydney test...
Obviously we were humbled by WA, but we were without Boland, Murphy, Puc, Harris and Short (obviously WA had just as many outs, but they have the ridiculous depth to cover). We have a very strong one day side when fully fit
I'g go with
Stoinis
Cartwright
Harper
Brook
Maxwell
Webster/Burns
Coulter-Nile
Mir
Boland
Rauf
Steketee/Paris/Couch
Quality team when they're all there, however Brook will be gone by finals and likely Rauf as well
Despite no Head or Carey to be available, the Strikers still look like a...
We rarely have top level imports from SA and NZ play in the BBL which is fair enough, of course if they are serious for international selection they'd be playing cricket in their own country in their season. The only top liners I can think of are ABD, Faf, Boult and McCullum and they were all...
