Fair enough but Stevens + pick 24 is not insignificant.

Yeah it‘s not, it’s just not as though it’s really filling a need for us. I think Stevens wants to come home and we’re probably interested, but not to the extent where we’re going to trade out one of our starting (contracted) KPDs. For us to do that it’d probably have to be a big need for us that we’re chasing hard, which I’m not sure it is. We do need good mids but he’s not exactly that... I doubt he’d be a lock for our best 22 next year

Just my read on the situation anyway.

Based on the info posted about Toy's condition - DO NOT WANT.

It is nothing against the kid, I genuinely feel for him as it will definitely impact his career. We just aren't in a position to recruit a midfielder/flanker who won't get the chance to build their endurance to an elite level no matter where they play.

If we were legitimately interested in Toy, heart block isn't the end all for his career. It is simply a malfunction of the heart (for those who were wondering about the specificities of the condition) the heart beat is regulated and stimulated by electrical activity in a number of 'nodes', in heart block sufferers, the electrical message is slow to get through or doesn't transfer properly through the nodes so the heart doesn't reach the desired number of beats per minute. Therefore the individual cannot perform properly. This problem is solved by a pacemaker - and for those who are wondering, pacemakers can be set to comply to any maximum heart rate desired by the patient - so he would effectively be able to train and develop his cardiovascular fitness to full capacity. The only issue is that pacemakers can, I emphasize can because it may never happen - be damaged by very heavy contact. So its a bit of a risk if you think about it that way. However, if you consider the reaction this will cause in relation to his value, he could be acquired very cheaply. And if he were to develop to be an outstanding player it would be a great outcome. Something to think about.

I'd like to call into trade radio at some point and lol at Plough over what he said about Howlett, but then i'd be one of those people that call in to trade radio that I like to laugh at. I don't think I can do that.
I've called in at least three times and literally said "okey mete".

Not sure if they aired it, but I'm a bit of a bad arse like that.

Hopefully with us helping port keep their FA compo picks and trading Gus cheaply and not playing hardball forcing them to pick him as a free agent, will mean there is some goodwill between the clubs if we are interested in Jacobs.

They nominated Daniher in the draft. Can't be too much goodwill remaining.

Well he is uncontracted so we do hold the hand, similar to Monfries for them. I am happy to go:

Gumbleton> Freo,
Gumby pick> Port
Jacobs> Essendon

**** me I just listened to it.

Basically blamed Hooker and Carlisle for us getting bent over at the end of the year.
Yeah, Terry, when the midfield gets absolutely decimated, there isn't a lot two key backs can do to stop the flow.
Figured you might have known that given you coached Richmond for 5 years.

Has absolutely no idea. The worst was calling Bellchambers a C grade player. Wow.
