Seriously USO is just the worst possible time zone for us. Stay up and watch Lleyton, or get up early to watch Sam and she might not even be on the bloody court.

Anyway, I think the Ferrer Hewitt match could be quite long as they're both grinders. Would be massive if Lleyton could get up. Kohlschreiber and Isner at night sounds like a great match also.

Currently a very interesting match on b/n Isner and Kohlschreiber. Seeing as Isner loves playing 5 setters that's where its at. I started watching just after he got a footfault in the opening game, and he was eventually broken. He's pretty much imploding, getting annoyed at the ump, smashing his racquet after holding to trail 2-1 at the changeover. He got a point penalty for it as well (I assume he already got a warning).

Anyway, its a shame Lleyton couldn't win, but all in all its probably been a good year for him and hopefully it will give him a base for next year.

I didn't follow Stosur's match and I'm happy I didn't, 9 match points?? Bloody hell... Apprently it wasn't the best match and you'd think Azarenka will give her an absolute hiding in the next match. At least she's managed to defend a fair amount of her points I spose...

Kohlschreiber still up a break 3-2 in the fifth.

Good to see from Rafter. Unless Bernie has a complete attitude readjustment he won't get close to maxing out his potential.

Yeah, really pleasing comments from rafter, Tomic needs to get his head kicked in, i thought he got a harsh rap when he first started but his performances are getting impossible to defend. Honestly, you could almost argue giving the singles dc spot to Matosevic it has gotten that bad but talent sort of elimates that.

Very pleasing performance from hewitt, if only he won that first set it might of been a different story, can't disappointed with that.

Stosur played well again, ignore the 9 match points, robson has a very troubling game and Sam handled it well. Watch her completely collaspe against azarenka now as we have been saying.

Hewitt continues to impress, what a phenomenal competitor he is. If he played AFL, you'd want him on your side.

Serena is the best returner on the WTA. Stosur is useless without her serve getting her lots of free points. Bad match-up.

Most players' H2Hs against Serena are flattering because she doesn't give a shit outside of Grand Slams. That Stosur barely got over her at the FO says a lot, given that its her best surface and Serena's worst by a long way.

So Stosur and Williams have played 3 times at a GS, Sam leads the head to head 2-1. Williams has won a French Open, made a semi and 5 1/4 finals. Her worst surface by a fair way, but she is not completely useless on it.

Williams is a bad match-up for every player on the tour, she is the best player out there. But Williams is a better match up for Stosur than Azarenka, you simply cannot deny that.

In saying all this, I hope that Sam can get her first win tomorrow, would be fantastic. I have enjoyed her form again and thought she played quite well against Robson. Has not lost a set coming into the 1/4 finals and that is a great performance. She did have 10 MPs, but Robson played quite well in most of those points.

The extended grass court season was actually a bad thing for Sam this year and caused her to lose some points in the tournaments leading up to the US Open. If she loses against Azarenka she will drop to around #10, depends on a few other players and how they go.

Mardy Fish has withdrawn from his match with Federer citing 'health reasons'. I know he had heart issues earlier this year, so hopefully it's nothing to do with that and it's just a flu or something.

Hlavackova gets double bageled
Inb4 "wimmins tennis"
Besides Kerber/Errani it's been a really crap day so far.

Health reason makes it sound like the heart again, hope for the best for Mardy.

Disappointed Almagro didn't beat Berdych

So far today:
1 walkover
6/6 straight set matches
4 Bagels

Lets hope Raonic can do something

Really? Can't stand Almagro. Only got his ranking from clay court tournemnts.

Murray was awesome against Raonic. Keep it up Muzza.

Berdych annoys me more, done a few things now which makes him look like a crappy bloke, that whole incident at AO really was awful. He has seemed to got his form back though.

yeah, Murray was awseome, all getting prepared for getting to the semi, he'll get by Cilic comfortably

Stosur on at 1am again  Will be the last time though...

Just saw Kerber got knocked out, that sucks, who else on that side of the draw is gonna take it up to Serena? She won't stuff up again like last year.

He has seemed to got his form back though.

Berdych hitting top form when he saw Federer in his quarter was never in doubt. Guy has played at 3x his normal level against Fed for the last 5 years.

Whats wrong with Errani? Having a break out year.

Errani, Vinci, Schiavone... all weaponless and boring as ***k to watch. Tournament is worse if they're making it deep.

Hewitt is arguably weaponless. Good players are good players, their style of play shouldn't come into it.
