A game in Canberra.
If it means we don't have to play Sydney in Sydney, I'd happily accept that instead.

Slightly off topic but it was a really stupid move by GWS to play home games in Canberra, especially when they are trying to market themselves as a Western Sydney team.Yeah. I was going to drive down for the Lions v Doggies NAB Challenge game in Canberra a few years back, except our car went in for repairs over that weekend. Skoda's much nicer than Manuka though.

Such a short sighted move though. The AFL wants GWS to be self-sustaining, and the Canberra $$$ are part of that. There's not enough dedicated GWS supporters in Western Sydney to really kick up a stink about it yet IMO.
Port play all home games in Adelaide and the others are old Victorian clubs that only recently started doing it are different as they regularly get games in Melbourne.Same to Port, Melbourne, Saints, Hawthorn, Dogs, Richmond and North?
Plus the Grand Final at the 'Gabba regardless of who plays.4 away games and 20 games in Qld, same sort of preferential treatment Collingwood get...![]()

GWS missed the opportunity to market themselves as the real NSW club (after all the Swans relocated from Sth Melbourne) and alienate potential Western Sydney based supporters by regularly playing home games in another state. It will also make it harder for Canberra to get its own team in the future.

More arvo/twilight home games and less night home games would be a perfect compromise for me.Well looks like we've been dudded again. Despite having a contract with the AFL for easter thursday that's going to the Carlton vs Richmond landslide that occurs every year.
Hope we are getting something well worth it back for that sort of concession.

We will get the easter thursday timeslot though won't we as there is some sort of deal between the qld gov and the afl?
