Mega Thread 2013 Pre Season

I usually wouldn't even care about pre-season. But being on uni break basically lets me get absorbed by anything of slight interest. So it's a bit tedious waiting until the middle of the afternoon for a training report. In fact, I was even considering walking down to watch either Richmond (they're at Vic Park) or Carlton do some laps. We need a live streaming service.

In your spare time - go kick up some divots down on the training grounds of the melbourne clubs

On the Fremantle Twitter it says he left the track with a suspected knee injury and that Ross Lyon has accompanied him offsite for further assessment. Hope it's nothing too serious. :/

I was there and he did look rather pissed off at first which was a bit concerning. He was banging the ground with his fist and threw his bib away. But once he got up he was walking fine and walked off the ground un assisted.

Don't forget with ACL's you can walk fine for a few hours following with no pain IIRC

Out of the first year players, Tanner Smith , Hannath and Taberner were training. Duffy was running laps early. Didn't see Simpson or Howson.
Hill was training with the main group as was Griffin. Mcpharlin and Sandilands too.
Pavlich was out early running which is very encouraging.
One thing that seemed to draw a lot of praise from the coaching group was when each time Balla ,Hill or D Pearce took the opposition on and tried to run and carry when in possesion in the match drills.
Crozier used his great verticle leap to mark balls that seemed to be going way over his head. At one stage though, Ross Lyon yelled out to Crozier to work harder in one of the 5v3 drills.

Hi guys just looking for an update on a couple of local boys - alex forster and lachie neale.

Chucking together a piece for my paper about our expats in the league (shock horror, a journo using bigfooty for a story).

Forster has been training solidly from reports, as has neale... Lachie has had his arms amputated and had tree trucks attached in their place, the kid looks like a brick with legs now

He was back in SA late december and I took his photo with his mum at a local race meet - he still looked smallish (Lachie that is)

Well unless it was trick photography, the photo of him In the west made his arms look like Schwarzenegger.... I'm not sure if you have seen the movie the expendables 2... But there is a scene where Arnold hilariously rips a door off a car hinge... Lachie looked like he could do that in this photo

Saw the start of it but was busy doing other things.

He may be big when flexing but still looks reasonably small. Wouldn't say he's anything close to schwarzennegger at this stage.

Good to hear about Forster though. Between Neale debuting and Trengove being an AFL captain, I haven't had much of a chance to follow him.

Well Schwarzenegger is stretching it, but he looks big in the photo

Both are training really well, Forster (IMO) will have to wait until next year for a gig (prove me wrong) but Lachie showed last year he has what it takes and I would imagine he will play 10+ games this year. He just looks a natural footballer.
