interesting pick and what bulldogs need. i like him. thought he might of been a good late pick for us as he can play forward or back. as good if not better than henderson but has a big more heart

I don't think The Dogs will care to muck around here.
I know a 24 year old is never as sexy as an 18 year old unknown, but it just fits for their immediate and mid-term needs.

VFL is very different to AFL of course, but Brown looked terrific in the one game I saw him play live. He just did everything at a high standard.

Pick 31 North Melbourne - Greg Clark

Midfielder that will most likely take 3-4 years to develop into an AFL midfielder but could be something quite special.

Rates high in leadership (WA captain this year), endurance (15.5 beep test) and is of high character having been talked up for his commitment by his coaches. Has been in the system for years and is used to following top level type game plans and running patterns, was in the AIS academy this year and has been playing WAFL colts since 2013.

Made his WAFL senior debut this year and put it in a good game with 17 touches, also was strong in his 10 reserves games throughout the year.

At an AFL club he will run his guts out each week and put his all into developing but so far he's played mostly as an outside mid and he can't kick well enough to play there at the top level. Has now grown to 193cm and he needs to fill out and become and inside mid. Is very good at getting to the ball in a scramble and knows how to use his body, he needs to work on firing his handballs out quicker and taking the first option. Has also spent a bit of time playing CHF so the ability to go forward will be handy but it's as an inside mid where he could become a star.

Collingwood - Nick O'Kearney - 181.4cm 70.6kgs.

This kid knows how to find the football and is a pure footballer. I will do a big write up soon.

Sin City
He instantly will be the best player to come from this draft this time next year according to Knightmare. So good pick.

Pick 33 North Melbourne - Daniel Rioli

Another forward but this time a pure small forward without the versatility of Ah Chee or Garner. Has all the traits of your classic small forwards and is a pretty good fit for a team known for playing all out attacking footy and generating a lot of inside 50s. Best available as the only player left in my top 20.

Blue and Silver you're up mate

Yes I'll match it.

Pick 34 - ST KILDA: BAILEY RICE

Rice is a courageous half back flanker with great smarts and disposal. Has a big chance at moving up into the midfield but I see him developing nicely under Geary as a rebounding defender along with Dan McKenzie for years to come.

Love the first two picks J. I'm not yet sold on the last two.

I'm not sure Mathieson will be able to shine in the big leagues with more quality ball winners.

Tucker is a nice talent but not sure he'd be future best 22 with our back flankers and there were a few more pressing needs.
I'm so hoping we don't get Mathieson, he can get it but reminds me of Brock Mclean, slow and crap disposal... Darcy tucker would be nice!!

Jeremias - can match the bid with 53, and drop 54 back to 60 to balance the points.

Is this a case of the "black hole" in the picks, where out #59 and #60 have been "upgraded" ??? That is actually a REALLY good result for Carlton if they are upgraded and create enough points to nab SOS without having to downgrade our picks for next year !!!!!!!

Yep, correct. In matching for their own academy kids, GWS, Sydney and Brisbane have lost a few of their later picks to the back of the draft, improving our placement.

It's not really downgrading picks though, dependent on the points and where one feels they'll end up.

If we feel that we'll finish bottom four, then we effectively have 200 points to play with, where no impact to our selection will be felt.
