Agree with this... We gave Lycett a 4 year deal last year, which says the club sees him as a long term investment, he will not be traded. If there is a trade it will more likely be one of Schofield/Brown/Sinclair, especially if Barrass has a good second half of the season. (Schofield playing KPD very well at the moment and I hope he isn't on the table) (Sinclair playing in the side would inflate his value?)

EDIT: Thinking behind Sinclair being on the table is based on if we draft a young ruckman next season
i dont think you will trade sinclair for exactly the same reason i gave for lycett. why would you trade these rucks out when you are in your window?

also sinclair is different to lycett. sinclair is more of a fwd who can ruck. lycett is a ruck who struggles fwd

sinclair is also in your best 22 right now which speaks volumes to your structure and where he fits. cant see them changing that anytime soon

whos the other tall. mcinnes? he could be the one moved on

With Kennedy at 28 this year, McInnes is valuable and needed for us.

I wouldn't be trading away a 197+cm CHF with sticky hands unless he wanted to leave for more opportunities which is fair enough.

He has no such thing. His lack of a leap means his arms have very little give as he's always meeting the ball at full stretch and once he's shifted off the line of the ball he turfs it far too often.

It's because of McInnes that I'd prioritize a tall forward ahead of a tall defender because McGovern can play back if needed; Barrass is coming along really well and Powell though not a genuine KPD is a better third tall defender than he is a tall roaming forward. Neither Darling, Lamb or Powell are contested marking monsters. All three rely heavily on getting separation through speed and endurance.

Last year we were meant to be keen on Brendan Abbott from Albany / Claremont well he kicked six goals in Collingwood's VFL team last weekend ....you cant have them all in a good draft for West Coast , but hope he does well .
we grabbed lucas instead

and the year before you grabbed Rowan powell instead
Rowan Powell was a perfect rookie pick ! Talent ++++ but needs time to develop his body and game .
Lucus is just a spud reject from Carlton who was a waste of a pick IMO .
We could have had a project ruck or Oleg Markov who we were apparantly keen on .
In such a good draft we missed a trick with our rookie selection .

I think McInnes is acapable of having a Jason Ball type career, and as a backup tall I'd say that's pretty decent. He just coming into being comfortable with his size, he'll only grow from here (now that we've finally started taking strength training seriously) and IMHO we'll see major strides as he adds weight and strength to his agility.

Abbott ran an 8 beep test. He'll never make it at AFL level.
Lucas is a depth player with AFL experience who can be called upon if needed. His form in the WAFL has been very good.
Rowan Powell will never amount to much, if anything.
McInnes - added marking power when he was in the team but Darling kicks more goals and is clearly ahead of him.
McGovern will spend most of his career in defense.
Markov should have been picked up last year.

At what cost ? In a weak draft he may go top 30 especially after a breakout u18 carnival .
I have a feeling we missed the boat
he doesn't seem to be going too high in the phantoms, only in chris25s but he probably had him top 30 last year too

Do you know how Jack Cripps is going ?

I think he was showing a bit a few years ago

If you get overlooked at u18 level its usually the end - you are generally left alone unless you can tear up the WAFL, and even then you probably won't get picked up. This is a weak u18 year though, so more mature age players might get picked up - but since Cripps is playing reserves there is not much if any chance he gets picked up.

Is that serious? That's horribly bad.

When Lamb and Cavka do 15's coming straight out of the u18's, it shouldn't really matter how much upside a player has when they can only manage 8, they clearly don't have the want.

Considering that was after not playing football for a year, 2 1/2years ago and played 15 games in the wafl seniors.

If I'm not mistaken still hasn't done a pre season, runs 12-14km a game in the vfl after an ankle injury and is starting to dominate. WILL NEVER MAKE IT is a huge call, one you make from your computer sitting on your a$$. you know 5/5ths of nothing masto and never have.
