According to an article in the west the Eagles increased the value of this contract.
That's what I thought . Means we still had cap space . We also re - negotiated shuey, priddis and darlings contracts . Probably front loaded and payed extra this year with the extra space . I remember vosso saying that we try to pay the full cap as we are a wealthy club that can .

There aren't many that are well off. Granted each club has to stick to their salary cap.

Anyone notice the Melbourne/North Melbourne logo mix-up? Hard to blame anyone for confusing two useless and irrelevant footy clubs with one another I guess. ;)

i can't imagine we are too pushed for cap room. at any rate, i'd be prioritising mcgovern over many others.

Western port bay in august is horrid. 4c for 2 hours, once the warming blanket was taken off me (my body had warmed up just enough to start shaking again) i went to walk and every muscle from my neck down cramped at the same time. Most horrific pain you can imagine.
Me and the mrs walked along the 'beach' at Corio Bay as we drove Great Ocean Road and stayed they're on the last leg before Melbourne. It was so windy and cold my ears froze and I was in pain. Good and proper pain. Top place!

What are people's thoughts on Suckling? Reportedly keen to pursue free agency at the end of the season. He's a great kick and could fit in with the ongoing plan to add more skillful ball users. Do we need him though?

This was discussed at the beginning of the year and when Waters retired plus our 2 KPD's went down, there was strong support on the board.

Now - seeing how well the back line is playing as a unit, Wellingham has found his niche, Sheppard is showing why we drafted him, Butler has found a new lease of life, Schofield has shown he can play tall and on Friday reminded us how he can run it out of defence, Nelson has shown he is a keeper and a strong contender to be 150 game player on HBF and of course Captain Hurn, I am thinking less need for him.

That said, at a decent price he would strengthen our list and it would all depend on what rapport Simpson had with him from the Hawk days. Question is if we lost Selwood to Cattery and got Suckling, any free agency compensation would be lost or diluted (not a good year to be diluted).

Yeah he almost seems like an unnecessary indulgence given how well our backs are going. But I guess we can never have too much depth.

Still think either Duncan or Motlop would have been great additions to our midfield.

Id take him.. lots of our back line players are having great years but im still unsure about Wellingham or Sheppard maintaining the rage and both Butler and Ellis are super injury prone.

It would be good to have some more depth there and he is a premiership player..

Obviously if he comes relatively cheap and we have the space.

suckling would be great but with powell and barrass waiting in the wings I don't think he is what we need.would rather target another mid or even a KPF

why would you say wce are tight on cap space , We`ve lost Cox and Glass two of the highest paid players last year and Waters deal would still be extra cash for next year .

Priddis would also be on the veterans list and he'd be one of the highest paid players.

Really? Suckling?
Don't we have Selwood on our list as the current whipping boy?

For good reason.

Pass on suckling. It's an unnecessary acquisition into a backline which we'll already be struggling to fit all our in form defenders into next season.

He can be played off a wing though, but still don't rate the idea.

Was that support on The Board or this board?

How much would you offer him and for how long?
