Nobody's going to catch Sloane, even with his R23 suspension. Betts & Laird are probably safe in 2nd and 3rd as well. The battle for 4th and 5th should go down to the wire - though I doubt Lynch, JJ, Walker, Thompson, or Talia would have polled votes on Saturday night.

Interesting that Matt Crouch won the Showdown Medal, yet neither coach thought he was in the top-2 players on the ground. Only one of them even had him in the top-5.

No arguments about the West Coast votes. No Adelaide player deserved to receive a vote.

It will be interesting to see how the Malcolm Blight B&F votes compare to the AFLCA votes, when the B&F Dinner is held in a few weeks time.

It's funny how different selection committees come up with different results.

The AFLCA votes had 3 Adelaide players in the AA team.

The AA selection committee have named 6 Adelaide players in the squad of 40. What is more interesting is that 4 players named in the AFLCA's AA team didn't make the AA selection committee's squad of 40.

The AFL's Team of the Week selectors came up with an AA team containing only one Adelaide player - Eddie Betts. No Sloane, no Laird, no Talia. To be fair, I still think the AFL Team of the Week is based purely on stats, by people who obviously haven't actually seen half the games each round.
