If we lose our first round pick
And can snag an early second? Is there any chance Powell pepper is still avail? Really like his tapes tough and quick

Now Bicks by my reckoning there's about 40 players so far that you have a liking for :p .....well that may be a slight exaggeration ?

How about a list of players you don't like?

For me ......i loved Ladhams last year, thought he had some genuine upside .....watching the U18 champs and man, has he gone backwards ......can understand why he was only a state invitee ......just not feeling the love anymore :(

Exaggeration nothing slight about it..

If you care to go back in this thread you will see early in the year I raved about Andrew McGrath the 1st time I saw him, long before he was anointed by the "experts", kid's a jet same with Ben Ronke who I commented on after seeing him play here in Ballarat earlier in the year, another with serious wheels and a big, strong physique that will probably go later in the draft but one I feel certain has all the attributes for AFL.........will be ready from day one, mark my words he will be a player.

Ronke does seem like a good prospect is there a particular weakness in his game, to be only rated as a 3rd round pick?

Kicking can be inconsistent some seem to think, though the day I saw him it looked OK to me, easily the best for the Cannons that day and held his own against a very strong Rebels midfield that consisted of Hugh McCluggage, Jarrod Berry and Willem Drew who will all go 1st or early 2nd round IMO. His speed and acceleration from the contest is what really caught my eye along with his well developed physique, ready to go immediately in year 1.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-10-16/willie-rioli-conor-noonan-impress-at-sa-draft-combine

WILLIE Rioli, the cousin of Hawthorn superstar Cyril, was among those to impress at South Australia's NAB AFL Draft Combine on Saturday.

Rioli ran 2.98sec for the 20m sprint and showed improvement in his beep test, registering 13.2. The small forward/midfielder lost 16kg in the pre-season to put himself in contention to be picked up by an AFL club.

The 21-year-old booted four goals for the SANFL in the representative clash against the VFL in May.

West Adelaide's Conor Noonan looms as the most likely of those in attendance on Saturday to end up on an AFL list and he was among the best performers. He took out the beep test with 14.4 and also did well in the agility test.

Noonan is an outside midfielder who stands 182cm and shows smarts up forward. An injury-riddled year meant he played only one game in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, despite having been desperate to show recruiters what he could do.

Liam Mackie, whose cousin Andrew has won three premierships with Geelong, was another to show his wares at the state combine.

He registered 13.3 in the beep test and 3.04sec in the 20m sprint.

At 186cm, Mackie is a half-back who reads the play well and provides accurate kicking from defence. His wiry frame is yet another attribute he shares with Andrew.

Others to stand out were Dylan Whimpress, who ran the 20m sprint in 2.91sec. At 188cm, the medium defender combines speed and a high leap, and can also play forward.

Tye Bedford (a speedy wingman) and Peter Ladhams (ruckman) tested well in the running vertical jump.

I really hope we take one of Tyson Stengle or Jarmaine Jones, indigenous lads both with a good bag of tricks, innate goal sense and speed to burn...late rounds to rookie list.

How about that Ronke?

Heard Matty Lloyd say he thinks McGrath will go to Bombers for pick 1. The way he described him and McLuggage, he sounded pretty convinced McGrath would be the better player.
I've seen both close up, especially McCluggage and I'd dispute that strongly...McCluggage is an absolute Rolls Royce....and I have had a very high opinion of McGrath all along, long before the Draft "gurus" were really onto him.
