Nah, actually I think it's a clean slate. Both teams have equal chance this year.
I always enjoy Janus posts. Yes I have faith.
So you rate your chance of success in 2017 the same as ours.

Seriously I needed that laugh.:p Thank you.:thumbsu:

For all of Chapman's faults - at least our chairman will never appear on Carols in the Domain in a horrid ugly sweater suit tracking Santa :D

BTW - who dares Kochie to wear that suit to the Port's next home game...or to China...

we're the 4th favourite for the flag in 2017 with the bookies, looks like some punters believe in organic growth.

Bookies have St Kilda, Melbourne, Essendon, collingwood and Fremantle all ahead of Port.
I have at least St Kilda and Melbourne in front of them. Of the other 4 I really cant split them, maybe Essendon depending on how they manage the 12. They will all be in that big bunch fighting for the 8th spot.

However, IMO Port Power and Port Magpies should merge first.

The Port Adelaide reserves should not be allowed to play in the Magpies jumper or sing the club song. They should sing the and wear PAFC Power guenseys and sing that stupid song. Hell I dont care if they have that INXS sing a long (would be pretty funny). But they are not the magpies and the rest of the competition should care for the SANFL history and demand they change out of respect for the heritage of the competition.

I think Port could snatch a spot in the top 4 this year.*

*Top 4 of the bottom 10.

Port have 10-15 genuine quality AFL players no question. But they have monumental depth issues and holes to fix. They have no forward line. Dixon is a support act, not the lead. Their game plan last year was just bomb it long to him. I think they will finish around that 9th to 13th spot. At home they should win their fair share of games.

I could point you to countless articles which explain the need to build up cardiovascular endurance so you can fuel functional strength. The more weight you carry, the harder the heart has to work in order to pump blood around the body, the quicker you fatigue. The only way to fix that is one of two things - either you strip off weight (which is why marathon runners are always skinny) or you increase your endurance and then build up functional strength to a level that your cardiovascular system can support without muscle fatigue.

Not at all. I'm saying it's just a waste of time when last year the teams that were successful were the ones that focused on power running and explosiveness rather than endurance running. Every single side in the top eight had one or two quarters where they would win the quarter more often than not. Sydney, for example, was 1st in the competition for winning first quarters and 1st in the competition for winning 3rd quarters. GWS was in the top four for 2nd and 3rd quarters. West Coast focused on the first and second quarters.

I think 3km time trials were great for football when there was a policy of where if you interchange, you can't return to the field. When players had to stay out there all the time and so needed to prove that they could run for a medium distance at a certain level. With rotations, it's absolutely pointless, and we proved that last year because last year we thought endurance was the key with everyone posting great 3km times and we got flogged at the start of the year by sides who were pushing harder than us.

It's a relic of a style of football that no-one plays anymore. 10 x 300m repeat sprint times (which is what we are doing instead) would be a better indication of whether a player hasn't been getting fat and lazy, because at least it's more conducive to the sport.

But what would Burgess and McKeown know...they are only in the top 100 of the best sport scientists in the world. Our strength and conditioning coach Mladen Jovanovic who sadly had to leave to return to Serbia was in there too.

You think you're leading the way? That's cute.

Also, why do you think that you know what other clubs focus on? You're just a little bit delusional.

Perhaps because he has no heart and doesn't want to give back to the community like Kochie does.
