Davies-Uniacke putting himself out of our reach IMO.

Bonar looking a tiny bit flat but still toughing it out impressively with a limited fitness base; will probably look better as the game goes on.

Clark loves a dash, but I don't see how he's going to step around people at AFL level without some serious conditioning work, though he is a bit skinny for his frame, so there might be some scope.

Williams, Bedford and Bayne look good for next year's draft. Williams has a good spring and decent acceleration off the mark, would be an upgrade on Phillips but, like Phillips, he doesn't have an economical running style to make more contests.

On the Geelong side of things, Worpel is getting first use, but rushing his disposal by foot.

Miers is oozing class but lacks a little acceleration off the mark for his size; dribbled a beautiful goal from the pocket.

Ling has some class about him off HB.

There's probably been a few others that have been prominent, but between the caller who doesn't know the teams and the stream quality seemingly decreasing by the week, it makes it a little tough to spot who's doing what without getting a good look at the back of their jumper.

The Stingrays' 23rd man Bowman has replicated Miers' effort in the same pocket, but stands about 20 cm taller. Another 2018 candidate.

Miers responds by postioning well to receive, wheel and snap from the top of the square.

Hollenkamp has clean hands and evasion for a ruck, but his body work is terrible. Bit of jelly legs in his coverage and kicking though.

Dandenong feeling the pinch a bit, but have a great ability to get the ball forward quickly on the counter. Coast-to-coast for a goal.

Tom Murphy with some very sharp kicking into the corridor in the last few minutes, really taking the game on. A few recruiters would have sat up in their seats watching one in particular.

Nanscawen keeps finding the footy on the deck and using it very well. Another for 2018, with slick wheels and skills. Has a twin brother who's apparently 3 inches short than him, so not identical?

Brownless for Geelong (yes, that Brownless) trying to drive something for his team; good composure and clean hands, playing the defensive side of midfield.

Idun (2018 eligible) a bit undersized for a tall defender, would like to see if he can cover the turf a bit on the rebound and provide a big body around the stoppage. A good opponent so far for Bonar, who is playing mostly up forward, as well as LDU when he is being rested up there.

36-24 in Dandenong's favour at the half. Petrol tickets and the ability to play on a fast track might determine the winner here.

Benson for the Falcons just unlocked the stoppage congestion in the middle of the park with a beautifully timed dink by hand into the path of Ling, who mazed his way up to the 50, only to spray his shot to the left.

Ling's running power is extremely impressive.

Hanley prominent again, helping at the stoppages to keep the ball in the 50 after the Falcons work it back from the kickout. Ends up with it slightly on the outside at the third stoppage, and kick a quick snap for a critical goal.

Parish has had something like 8 touches in 10 minutes to start this half (23 for the game), and resultantly Geelong have hit the front. He's one I've probably missed because it's a bit of a blur between him and Worpel with this stream.

Schafer has a bit of spring and skip about him for his size, decent skills too.

LDU got a good ride for a grab at HB, but went early. Shows some explosiveness when he needs it.

Parish still racking up touches. Bit of a bull and distributor, perhaps in the Kennedy mould? Long way to go to get his body up to that level though, but certainly plays like that.

Official numbers: 14 disposals for Parish this quarter at the 22 minute mark.

Clark and Bonar having a bit of fun down the wing on the counter attack. Bonar's not far behind Clark for top speed. Murphy with the kickout to set that up and (I think) Bowman taking the grab.

Hollencamp looks to have found his feet a bit more, where before he looks like his legs were stuffed with pipe cleaners. Side steps nicely to provide a clearing kick from defence for Geelong.

DeWit has the right kind of trajectory you want on a pass into 50. Hasn't been super prominent but covers a fair bit of turf.

54-45 in Geelong's favour late in the third. Still anyone's game.

What's with all the hair?
Looks like a band of neanderthals out there. :)

Not too bad a game, with some good passages of play.

Funny game to me. Should be a bit better i reckon in the nice conditions.

The better looking players have progressively died out of the match. While scruffier players like Parish and Worpel just keep getting it and mongreling it forward.

7 disappointing quarters of finals from Bonar so far i reckon.

Worpel a man on a mission early in the last. Between him and Parish, they've shut out the bigger mids (albeit they are less inside leaning) for the Stingrays in LDU & Bonar.

Combine their efforts with Benson, and Geelong have been fantastic in the bubble, and are starting to get it outside more as the game has opened up.

If Geelong keep making mistakes, the game will open up for the Stingrays with their attacking speed and skill, though a bit light on for strength in the contests.

LDU and Bonar getting a little involved now, resulting in an almost contested mark dead in front to Bonar, then a stoppage at the same spot as the mark isn't paid.

Geelong sweep it up the other end and get another out the back, in the square. Stingrays need to settle and sit back a tiny bit to get more counter attack opportunities.

DeWit lifting for the Stingrays, Floyd for the Falcons and they are having a similar impact despite a little bit of a difference in athleticism. DeWit with pace, height and sharp kicking; Floyd with more evasiveness, covering the ground well and more composure with the football in congestion, especially distributing by foot.

Every sharp intercept taken by Dandenong at the moment is resulting in a turnover at CHF. Seems their run is drying up just enough to take the flow out of their game.

Haven't been watching much of the second prelim, but Roughsedge just went off with a lower leg issue.

Knocked the knee on the turf is the commentator's take.

3rd quarter was a ripper. This is a better game than the early one. Commentator mentioned a knee for Roughsedge. Didn't see it happen.
