So what's the overall consensus from our 3 picks on draft night? Are we happy? Confused? Disappointed?

I honestly don't know enough about any of the 3 we picked to form an opinion.

Do we think we got steals or passed up on players that will bite us in the backsides down the track?

Someone quoted before that people should be angry about how well we did based on our picks. That’s enough for me!

Fox Footy panel saying that 'its not fair' that Hawthorn have been able to draft this well after picking up Mitchell, O'Meara and Impey in the last 12 months.

They were glowing of all three picks.
Only glanced at the YouTube highlights but haven't been this non plussed about our picks ever. None of them will play seniors 2018. Worpell the closest but has flaws that may not be fixed.

YouTube highlights eh. Remember when Jed Anderson was going to be a premiership captain off the back of his junior highlight package?

Just to put it in to context in the past 2 years we have added - Jaeger O'meara, Tom Mitchell, Jarman Impey, Harry Morrison, James Cousins, Ollie Hanrahan, James Worpel, Dylan Moore, Jackson Ross and Mitchell Lewis with CJ to come.

That is a great mix of guns, role players and some promising players with potential who could be boom or bust. The total haul we have had in the past 2 years has been amazing. Just Hawthorn things.

a while ago there was a poster who was suggesting we were into someone who wasn't on any clubs radar due to injury, does anyone know who this person was or if they were pick up?

Not picked up will be at hawks or Adelaide as a rookie

I will also admit that I was not that excited by their youtube "highlights".

However I am really excited to hear messages of people rating our draft targets.

Pick #7 in the rookie draft.

Krueger and Ainsworth amongst others available.

Hope we take a punt on one of the above 2 but doubtful.

Will probs go left field.

Maybe Hanrahan's brother.

I think you might mean Noah Answerth, as Brayden Ainsworth got picked up tonight by the W.C.E....

Others to consider in the Rookie Draft on Monday - N. Kreuger, D. Handley, N. Answerth, M. Day, T. Mynott, E. Floyd, J. Roughsedge, A. Sambono, F. Kinthari.

Heading into the draft with picks 45, 67 & 71 and getting James Worpel (All-Aus-Mid), Dylan Moore (All-Aus-Mid) and Jackson Ross who as reported possesses one of the biggest upsides in the 2017 draft pool who can move very well around the ground as an athletic half forward/wingman, where he can be damaging on the outside and hit the scoreboard, and who can become a posible Smith replacement in a few years time.

I personally think the club did a good job tonight.

Edit: The final draft verdict of all clubs on the AFL media website:

Entering the draft so late, the Hawks would have to be extremely pleased with their haul of players. Graeme Wright and his recruiting team nailed their selections. – Ben Guthrie
