Yeah I found that strange too. It was like there was a death in the family. Someone used a template media release document and left that in by mistake, perhaps.

I was just skimming the article and when I got to the "please respect the family's privacy part" had to re-read it to make sure he only had his appendix out.

Owch. Hopefully it's a nice uncomplicated surgery for Eddie.

My appendix experience was messed up - got sent away from the QEH and told to come back if it gets worse, despite having all the symptoms of appendicitis. Was crook for a week and went back in where they finally admitted me - got on the IV antibiotics and started to feel better so they sent me home.

Apparently my body had walled off the appendix and operating at the time could have been tricky - may have lost some of my bowel if they tried it. It had already ruptured around the time I first went to the ER.

Very slim chance of it being cancer but the appendix remains...Should probably go to the doctor and get it sorted.

Adelaide Football Club star Eddie Betts has been discharged from hospital, after undergoing emergency surgery to remove his burst appendix.
The star forward returned home this morning after two nights bedridden at Adelaide’s Wakefield Hospital. He was rushed there by club doctors on Sunday afternoon, after being struck down with severe stomach pains.
As he left hospital, he told 9NEWS it was the worst pain he’d ever felt, admitting he was “a bit scared” as the ordeal unfolded.
“My wife said that’s probably the most pain she’s ever seen me in; I’ve never felt that pain before,” Betts told 9NEWS.
“They said it was lucky they got me here, because there was like puss and all that coming out, so it wasn’t very nice but good to take it out and take away the pain.” “Drowsy, groggy, haven’t left the bed for two days, so looking forward to going home and seeing the boys.”

Crows General Manager High Performance Matt Hass said the Club would consult specialists before determining Crouch’s availability for this week.

“He’s had surgery this (Tuesday) morning,” Hass said.

“All went successfully and we will discuss our options with the surgeon and make an assessment on his availability going forward.”

Is it just me or does this sound like he could be out for a while..

Your story sounds a little intriguing. If it was obvious why didn't they admit you in the first place? Did they end up doing a scan to confirm or refute the diagnosis of appendicitis?
What's interesting is that maybe Eddie's appendicitis could have been a grumbling sore for the last few weeks, which is what's related to your case. And only these last few days it decided to show itself in an obvious manner. Just a theory, but this might well explain why Eddie has been down in form and obvious to everyone he seems more "fumbly" and not his usual self over the last few rounds.

Sounds like Crouchy is convinced he is good to go for this week they just have to find a doctor that will sign off on it!

He will play.

QEH explains it all

They showed the hospital on television ???? Maybe that started fans just 'dropping in' to wish Eddie all the best, let him know he is loved and respected at AFC, make sure he doesn't need anything, give him som flowers and a card, get an autograph for young Johnny, a few random selfies, smiles waves and thumbs up from the door and lots of low key stuff that they know will make Eddie get back on his feet quicker.

No way Hartigan comes straight back in. He'll play a couple of SANFL games like McGovern did before being considered for AFL selection.
Back in to play on Robbie Gray. ;)

It meant he's in a hospital where the public has access to him, so don't go about annoying him if you see him.

Why do I feel that performance was a one-off and a repeat attempt will be disastrous?
Harto should start by chatting to Robbie about how sad it is the umpires dont look after him and how they should head to the pocket to chat some more about it.
