Not quite, my attack against him in the final sentence was relevant to the argument, and is therefore not a fallacy. His attack against me had no bearing on what I was saying (which was really me making a childish intimation that they have a tendency to choke in finalss).

To be fair though, the discussion has been, from start to finish an excuse to abuse each other with little actual content, and I was being disingenuous for the sake of some low quality humour. They don't really have a finals issue. they have an issue dealing with close games, and a separate issue with GWS.

The Defence Rests.

1: GWS

18: Brisbane

1 Port Adelaide - Got our key position and ruck stocks back and I'm incapable of being impartial
2 Western Bulldogs - Were underrated for a lot of 2016 due to their outs
3 GWS - Very strong team especially at home. Jezza gonna have a big year.
4 Sydney - Will miss Tom Mitchell but still a great side with a smart coach
5 Melbourne - Hogan + Gawn = profit
6 Geelong - Star midfield, forward line is concerning though.
7 St Kilda - Were close in 2016, young guns will go up a notch in 2017.
8 West Coast - Will struggle without a fit NicNat

9 Hawthorn - Lost their BnF and got lucky with a lot of close ones in 2016. Regression to the mean means they'll finish lower in 2017.
10 Essendon - Will bounce back, players will be hungry and they have a decent list.
11 Fremantle - Will do better with fewer injuries but still got massive gaps in important positions.
12 Richmond - Traded well but Richmond gonna Richmond.
13 Collingwood - Will be seeing them down here for a while. Poor coach and list is average.
14 North Melbourne - Rebuild will be tough
15 Carlton - No hope to see here.
16 Brisbane - Only just beat a VFL team on the ladder in 2016, no clear improvement in 2017.
17 Gold Coast - Hopefully Gazza can give them some spark but they've lost some serious talent.
18 Adelaide - Midfield is very very slow and I'm incapable of being impartial.
Better troll than Trump for prez

Not one single person has Freo in the 8, they will be there and make it past the 1st Week.

It will get very ugly for the Hawks- basically sold this and next years draft for O'Meara.

If you said a year ago either Trump would become president or Port would win a flag, which would you choose...

The Trump Bullies double would have paid well.

Essendon will not make the eight. I fully expect their returning players to make it half way through the year before physically going into meltdown mode. No football for 12 months and expected to be in peak form after one pre-season; yeah, nah.

They may or may not make the eight but we're salivating at the prospect of Hurley, Hooker, Heppell, Colyer and co showing the way to the likes of Parish, Francis, Tippa and this years new crop of draft prospects including the coveted number one pick. Not to mention two more picks in the top 30.

And so you should, that is not to say they are a shit side (sigh, that hurt), but 12 months on the sidelines will have an effect.

Heppell as an 18 year old played every game in his debut season in which he won the rising star award, Why can't he do it as a 24 year old?

Play a full season not win the rising star. :P

I thought would have a go at this. I have very quickly run through the fixture and come up with the following:

upload_2016-11-15_16-57-19.png

- The Bulldogs will probably lose 1 or 2 more games and might drop into the yellow bracket.
- I think that anyone in the yellow bracket can make the eight and even push for fourth.
- Port and Freo are the two teams in the third bracket that might crack the bottom of the eight but i think it will be hard for them given the anticipated improvement of teams like St Kilda, Melbourne and Essendon
- I have North as the Team dropping from the eight and Hawthorn & Sydney from the Top 4.

Sigh, they may all play a full season, that does not mean that they can play at a level for the whole season that will get them into the finals.

I might be wrong, but I doubt it.

Understand, I think if we are to make finals it will be the younger blokes who need to push on to the next level. So many unknowns about us, Makes it very hard to place us.
