It's not ridiculous at all. What would be ridiculous is playing Geelong vs Collingwood at that Siberian wasteland and having thirty thousand extra people who can't fit in. There'd be a mutiny, and rightly so.
It's not "unequal" to source a bigger ground for those times you would otherwise overspill your home - and you can guarantee the Cats enjoy the extra ticket sales and the extra practice at the G. Fans win, club wins. I have no problem with it.

I go to Kardinia Park for Crows games often. It's always a sellout. I'm going again next week and my bro-in-law managed to get tickets a couple of weeks ago when there were not many left. If moved to Etihad or the G, maybe we'd get another 30,000?

Hopefully the Cats & Port smash each other this week...

I must admit up until a few years ago I almost used to get more pleasure out of a Port loss than a Crows win - warped I know. But things changed with Phil Walsh. Now I'm at the point whereby if a Port premiership made the AFC a better club than I could almost live with it.

That's changing though, pretty sure I heard that Geelong will now be playing 9 games a year there and will schedule all Vic clubs except for Collingwood and Hawthorn there now.

Yeah no. No, nope, nope, no. No.

No.

Is Geelong going to China next. That's ridiculous.
Their CEO said that they'd look at doing it if paid 1 million dollars and were moving one of their Etihad "home" games

But Geelong would play Port at Skilled, not Etihad. They'd have to give up a game against one of the big Vic clubs, which they wouldn't agree with.

+1

If you ran a poll on here, Im confident over 95% posters would relish a Port loss, all day every day.

One reason why this is my fav thread on BF is that it bashes the Power from pillar to post. In fairness, Port gives us so much ammunition it makes the memes/jokes/ridicule so much easier.

If a poster ever says they are disappointed over a Power failire, Im not sure they are Crows supporter tbh.

2007, I was drunk at HT given the Power failure at the GF. I knew of many Port supporters that left the ground at HT to never return. Can you imagine the numbers that would still would have been there by 3QT, zero.

Yeah I know I'm going crazy aren't I.

Maybe not crazy. Just a soft spot for baby brother that regularly gets beaten and smashed.

The thing is when the wheel turns, they will bash us on their board. Make no mistake on that. However, some of those turncoats actually supported the Crows till 1997. The irony is palpable.

I could live with another Port flag, so long as we keep up the 2:1 flag ratio. ;)

Really?

I couldnt, never ever.

FFS that shit Club wins a game and every campaigner from their board has to come over here and gloat. Even when they beat the shit teams.

Whenever I get asked whats my favorite number its always been and always will be 119. :$ :p

Soft spot, not at all. Port doing well seems to create a hungrier, more aggressive AFC.

Port 2001-2004 - AFC 2005 -2006
Port 2013-2014 - AFC 2015- 2016 - Trigg may have still been a Crow

I would bank if the unthinkable did happen (Port Power win their 2nd flag) it would send us through the roof as a club.

BTW there's no doubting that the club and supporters are bottom feeders.

Nup
Can't stand them. But not to the extent that their loss outweighs Crows wins-yet!

But do love the seemingly never ending stream of self pawning that club's PR machine engages in.

The Shanghai Open Letter and that stupid Port Celebrate Chinese New Year where 6 second rate players sat down to steamed dumplings have been highlights of the past 6 months

Disagree. May as well play every Collingwood/Suns and Collingwood/Giants game at the MCG, even when they're home games for Gold Coast and GWS.

oh come on if you're going to argue then at least be realistic, there is both opportunity and clear benefit for Geelong to host certain home games at the MCG; interstate teams have neither the opportunity nor benefit. apples/oranges.

same here, when I used to live in Melbourne and had VIC-based AFC membership, it was so easy to catch the train out to Geelong and make a (generally depressing) day of it.
having said that, moving it to the G would mean greater access for normal VIC-based AFC supporters (non-members), you'd expect an upswing in the thousands for sure, not to mention the city-based Geelong fans that would get the extra opportunity also. another win/win IMO.

That's fair enough they keep the bigger drawing crowds at the MCG, however IMO it weakens their stance on playing finals at Kardinia Park.

You either have all home games at Kardinia and therefore all finals - as you are forgoing the extra crowds or you move the bigger games and finals to the MCG.

Shouldn't be able to do both.

great point, agree entirely.

That old failed firey is at it again ...
Jenkins has a quiet patch after a confidence sapping injury and it's AFC have ****ed up with a long term contract.

"And if Port Adelaide needs more proof they can look just down the road to West Lakes with the events of the past week.

Last year Josh Jenkins signed a five-year deal believed to be worth over $3 million in total.

Through poor form, lack of competitiveness and injury, Jenkins was dropped back to the SANFL on the weekend."

No mention of Eddie Betts deal though

Lucky the Fire Dept didn't sign you up for 5 years eh ya big flog, Kornes!

But him and Tredrea also said Jenkins was made to be the fall guy for the failures of the midfield. So which is it?
