If that were to eventuate, let's hope it doesn't turn out another waste of time like Hams and Strijk.
Strijk well and truly had enough talent to make it.

Hartung is rubbish.
@FiveStrings does not like thisHutchingson and Marsden.
Just named my new band, which i play lead bass![]()
I don't think hartung is rubbish. I think he has many flaws and not much upside. I'd rather take a punt on a somewhat unknown quantity just because we need to really nail this draft to succeed. Taking blokes like hartung will keep us mediocre. A punt could turn into another valuable player. No more safe optionsAnd Petrie had nothing to offer.
Enough of the key board warrior BS.
Player x is a spud, player y is rubbish.
If anyone can reach the upper levels of any AFL KPI then that is not something to discount lightly. Hatrung is 22 and is far from peaking as a player. But he is faster and can run further that 90% of our list. If he can improve his disposal efficiency and defensive side he would be a handy player. Certainly done more than Lamb at the same age and our midfield depth is p!ss poor.

The same as him slipping to 13I wonder what the chances are of Higgins making it to 21. I would be over the moon if that happened.
You do understand that if we fill the main list to 40 we will use pick 105 or some such, likely the last pick in the draft.
The probability of that late pick playing 1 game is extremely low.

Guess we can discuss the de-listed 5 here.
Firstly I'm glad that Hill has been shown the door and I hope it stays well shut. Fingers, toes, legs, touching wood - everything crossed we don't keep a rookie position open for him. Let him become a full time WAFL player if he wants it.
Wellingham is the biggest player disappointment out of 2017 for me. Maybe I'd always concentrated on the positive side to his game pre this yearbut the way he fell off the selection cliff in a way during 2017 was something I didn't see coming at all. Think due to his experience he can be considered the most unlucky out of the 5 and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was re-rookied or at a third club in 2018. Handy depth for any club.
Lamb has been such a tease. All the talent but no application and inside desire. Maybe he didn't want to play in the seconds and felt entitled to a regular game in the AFL side but he just wasn't willing to work hard when it really counted. The pre draft summations in 2014 of a player that can have a lazy work rate have been absolutely correct so far. Hope he turns it around whether as a rookie with us or at another club.
Tom has time on his side and if he isn't on our list next year I still genuinely wish him good luck.
Gorter I was never a big wrap for and never grasped why we went down that path in the rookie draft last year. May have been a decision from someone within the club that had watched a lot of East Perth and Gorter.
Snadden I think will be better off without the alignment and EP, similar to how Main has developed his game further at Souths since moving back there.
All in all I wouldn't be angry if we re-rookied Lamb and Snadden although hardly done by maybe may end up back at Shark Park.
Lets hope they are not best mates.Hopefully before any decision on Hartung is made, the recruiters go and speak to Mitch and ask him point blank whether there is anything to work with. I'd back Hartung if Mitch is prepared to do so too.
I stood by Petrie from day dot.And Petrie had nothing to offer.

And Hawks just drafted Impey and are still saying they need to bring more speed into their team. Really doesn't say anything good about Hartung, that they have given up on him.I stood by Petrie from day dot.
I also think Hartung is very ordinary. Are you a keyboard warrior if you don't rate a player these days?
The last thing we need are more soft mids that can't kick. So he can run, fantastic. Maybe he should take up athletics. The fact Hawthorn are delisting him is a good indicator they wouldn't consider his peak worth pursuing.
Strijk well and truly had enough talent to make it.
If that's the case, what held him back from making it? He had a few decent games, nothing outstanding. He didn't get too much of an opportunity, but when he did, it was enough to show that he was a middling talent at AFL level. Perhaps WC could've retained him longer and provided him more opportunity just to make sure, but I don't believe he was anything more than a borderline best 22 player. As a HFF who wasn't going to be rotated into the midfield, his value was questionable. He wasn't a mud crab by any means.
I don't know this alignment model but is she fit ?I agree and think we're better off without the alignment model
thats enough of this logic stuff thanksYou do understand that if we fill the main list to 40 we will use pick 105 or some such, likely the last pick in the draft.

The probability of Hartung at 22 years old improving are a fair bit more likely. Thats the point.

Dont know that its used correctly.??? How is it better? Since when is it better not to play with ur teammates, where eagles style and game plan is practised?
What if using their pick......^ That's all well and good, but i don't know if the AFL will allow us to use Essendons pick 48... i may be wrong though.
Would much prefer the pick 37 TBH
Did we just agree on something? @WillSchofield 51s seconds ago. Mark down today's date in your calendar. The bigfooty eagles board code is no moreAlthough unlike Jetta, hartung;
1. Actually gets the football
2. Actually runs with the football
& 3. Is only young with plenty of improvement left in him.
I'd take a punt on Hartung over Sloth any day of the week. Would be a sensible inclusion despite the knock on his contested game.
