It doesn't mean he's not in the mix as there's still 18 rounds left and he could just as easily play well for the remainder of the season. Look at his numbers. Remember you're the same poster who said that Darling is a better player then Gunston.

I'm no Selwood fan (he didn't belong in the team last year) but he has had a good start to the season.

Brown has kicked 49 goals in his last 12 games, that's since it seemed to "click" mid season last year and he's just been completely dominant (excluding the swimming pool game).

This year, he's averaging 13 disposals, 5.5 marks, 5.1 goals, 126 SC points without that swimming pool game.


Going off the last 12 months, he's likely to kick 70+ this year imo, potentially 80+ if he continues in this form.

Still other mids that are more damaging.

12th for Clearances.
8th for Disposals.
15th for Tackles.
19th for Contested possessions.
Only 1 goal.

Definitely playing well, but not one of the top mids.

Feels like a genuinely uninspiring group of defenders to pick from so far.
Tom Stewart lucky to get in, but it seems like there's plenty of empty stats and limited impact coming from defence this year.

Rance shouldn't even be considered to make the 40 squad at this point. The only reason people have him up there is because he does things every other key defender does, but commentators rave over him for some reason.
