Basically the only gripe ppl could have is Kemp v Stephens. I’m willing to back Wells. Still waiting for a young ACL victim to prove me wrong.

maybe its just cause i rated cooper really high and not roberston, robertson is probably the worst kick inside the top 30 guys. and if youre going by fox footy's rankings please ignore them, some of their rankings and comparisons tonight were awful

My point being we picked a guy who many believe we would've gotten at our second pick (Stephens, Daniel Jones) while overlooking the kid the fans all wanted in Robertson (Dwayne Haskins). Not identical situations by any means, just see them as similar. Hopefully it works out the same way, where Stephens (Daniel Jones) turns out to be the better player.

From the whole 50 seconds of footage one thing I see in Cooper is how light and quick he can shuffle his feet to match his thinking. Tom Stewart is really elite at this.

Nothing wrong with selecting players who may need a bit of time to either develop or recover from an injury.
These guys are kids who hopefully have 12 years in the game. No need to rush them.

Assuming you mean Deshaun Watson, but yes, let's not melt too early. Obviously I prefer Robertson and Kemp over Stephens, but I'll back the kid in and wish him the best. Too keep everyone here happy, hopefully we end up with Robertson anyway.

I think people put too much of an emphasis on players who can play immediately.
Nothing wrong with selecting players who may need a bit of time to either develop or recover from an injury.
These guys are kids who hopefully have 12 years in the game. No need to rush them.

Not every kid can be a Joel and have an impact straight away

Robertson probably won't go to Port or Adelaide, but there's strong mail that Brisbane is interested...if he somehow gets to us at 26, and we don't take him, then I definitely think we've soured on WA for a little bit. I was more surprised that we didn't take Kemp, but I'm happy with a local boy in Stephens

I can understand us not taking Kemp. The knee is a massive concern. He's a big boy so the load through it won't get any smaller. And I don't think we could afford to take the risk with our first. Just a bit surprised that we went with Stephens over Robertson but a number of clubs have baulked at him since so maybe there is more in this?

Haven't minded them myself, only rookies playing for rubbish squads. Will improve. But you're right, let's hope Stephens turns out better. Chiefs man myself, if only we could get the Patrick Mahomes of the AFL. One can dream I guess.
