From the whole 50 seconds of footage one thing I see in Cooper is how light and quick he can shuffle his feet to match his thinking. Tom Stewart is really elite at this.

I just saw him continually fumble.

This going to sound really bad but if I were an athlete I'd rather break my leg then tear an ACL. Copper looks pretty fit

probably had the best combine of any prospect, broken bones heal much better than ligaments

I dont mind Stephens as he is probably less an injury risk than Kemp and a good player but i dont like De Koning..i do think he is probably the best tall left but he is raw and a big risk and he is nowhere near the best player left imo....robrertson and rivers to name a few are much better imo...by all means pick a tall later for needs but go best avail early.

Have you seen his clips on how well he reads the play, decent kicking and intercepts.
Was a need seeing we need tall defenders.

Sadly unless we get 22 it's goodnight for him in a cat's jersey. Would have been a ripping pick.

How could he not have been, l don't think the Crows will be so negative, they know how good he is and won't ignore his abilities.
Hope he comes to us but fat chance now.
However there's still some real talented kids available Rivers Sharp and Robertson the WA big 3, plus our mate etc.

It could have been worse. I'm not mad on either player we picked but the fact that Robertson wasn't taken with the next few picks placates my disappointment a bit.

I know you are not like this but I have read some posts on here that have linked the value of the player to their opinion or phantoms. Its only from today and tomorrow that now defines that..and from now Stephen is a R1 and Robertson is not

Exactly my point. He'd probably need to be put on ice for all of next year and back into the VFL the following year. That's 2 years we couldn't afford

strange that blues took the risk, very similar to curnow. though curnow looks like a star at times he also can never get his knee right and has had 4 surgeries since u18s.

Port have traded a future 1st round pick plus (prob top 10) plus pick 29 for Georgiades. Some ppl just love the game.

Hoping for Gould and Williams tomorrow. I’ve given up on Robertson. Port will have time to Auction that to somebody like Ess.

Was surprised about Cooper Stephens but at the same time if any club should know him well, it's Geelong. Less skeptical as our intel should be solid.

I love the De Koning pick. If he makes it as either a ruck, defender or forward, we are set. He'd be outright dangerous next to Sav if he is a hit.

Also I don't see many other options in the ruck or defence. Happy to a punt like this at 19.

Look loved the idea of Kemp and Robertson but reality is Robertson has been left out so far for a reason and Kemp is a massive gamble.

We're still going to get something nice at 26 so all is not lost. Maybe even a Robertson there. Let's see the reaction after pick 26.

Absolutely. I’d like to think I make own evaluations - as you know I had McAsey high before he “went high” and have had reservations on a few like Worrell that were touted to go before now.

I don’t doubt Stephens intent and he brings some very positive attributes. I’ve only seen a couple of his games so my sample size is small. But he wasn’t clean in either - he didn’t appear “one touch” and his disposal wasn’t great. Not terrible but lacked class I thought. Anyway, Wells and coming have seen a lot more of him so I’ll bow to their judgment for now.

De Koning just looks a long time away from having any impact. The KPF’s he was up against weren’t great so I reckon could have exaggerated his ability. Hope I’m wrong again. He marks quite well, reads the play quite well too. How quick is he? If he’s to play KPD I wonder whether he needs a yard?

Port might not take dev but crows will. If he gets to 24 id offer adelaide 26 and 38 for 24 and 46 (or offer wces future 1st for 24) and take dev and a slider at 46.
Last year clubs paid a live trade premium for the early day 2 picks so it will be interesting to see what happens.

I like him but i feel intercept is a role we have covered. What we need is a big kpd to replace HT and im not sure he has the bulk or speed for that. If we are going to bulk him up and turn him into a ruck i get it as he hasgreat skills and all the rucks other than jackson were crap and we need a ruck but if we are going to play him as an intercept defender i feel we have missed a trick given the quality left in the pool.

I will be very interested to see where we play him in the vfl.

So you could basically say Geelong Port & Carlton had pretty much the players on the board and jumped in front of us.
Cooper & DeK would of both be gone had we not pounced

Wondering what he'll do with P36 now?
I like Dylan Williams and Rantall Darcy Chirgwin is another l like.
He's got his tall swingman whatever, so it could be anything now.
