GFC draft was no good..when Wells trades out of 27 and gets a GCS pick 11 next year.

Then he goes and gets a smokey at 40 and takes Taheny at 50.... who most had a Top 30 pick.

SO he got Taheny for 20 picks less and added a smokey, and Pcik 11 next year ... but he had a bad draft.

LOL

Tell me about Taheny... low possession but effective forward?

Medium forward, super mark for his size..athletic...cankick goals in bursts and go through midfield..played well at senior level in SA. Carried a knee injury which affected his consistency but he could be anything.

sounds like Menzel right down to the injury...

Cooper Stephens is exactly what our mids need.

I am so so on de koning but we need quality talls and most of the talls after him were worse.

Taheny is the gun we need fwd or mid a matchwinner. I would have loved us to get a winger list needs wise but overall pretty good.

If we'd kept 24 then Sharp would have been great. A Sharp/Taheny takeaway tonight would have been a nice result but I think long term that having the raft of early picks next year should allow us to pick up a better player.

DRAFT ANALYSIS: “Cameron Taheny is a crafty medium forward, with superb marking skills and many traits to impact straight into the AFL level.”
THE 2019 season saw Eyre Peninsula-born Cameron Taheny impact at every level he played in. Taheny competed in First XVII with Rostrevor College, a SANFL Reserves premiership and League debut with Norwood, and also the Under-18 National Championships with South Australia. He made his SANFL league debut in Round 2 against Port Adelaide, and stunned with a fantastic performance kicking three goals. Taheny continued to kick goals with regularity – booting 15 goals in four games – and exhibited his brilliant goal sense and ability to take strong contested marks at senior level, he finished with 25 goals for the season across both grades. Taheny can make an impact immediately in his first season at the senior AFL level and is able to play a role as a pressure forward early in his career with the aim to move into a midfield-forward split role in the future.

Have to love BigFooty. People complaining about trading out future 3rd round draft picks about an hour after we turn a 2nd round pick into a future 1st rounder.

Hilarious stuff.
