It’s easy to forget how good Gould is at this time of year.

I couldn’t give a stuff if he put on a few kg’s after winning a senior SANFL flag. He’s one of the very best players available in this years draft.
Tactical kg’s.
He’ll be in SA.

Even if he intended it, putting on about 8 kgs between GF and Draft Camp is a serious effort. Must have lived the moto "Never walk past a pub without having a drink" modified to "Never drive past a Drive Thru without having a meal deal."

But if he meant it, why tell everyone he's now lost 6 kgs?

Do I smell a bit of draft tampering here by the Crows, allowing Gould to slide to the 20’s to their second pick? Just so weird that he got super fat before the draft combine. He went there much heavier than normal, then dropped a lot of it not long after? WTF is with that?

For our first pick I would love to get Fischer McAsey. I really like what I see.

He wouldn't get past us with 18 if that was their plan.

His skinfolds were at 78 at the draft combine. He's got them down to 60 now, but needs them to be 55 or better for an AFL club to draft him according to Sydney.

What concerns me is that he was booked on the Glenelg end of season trip but only pulled out after he was told he needs to get moving if he wants to be drafted.

I reckon he's just got a body type that puts weight on super easy. Pretty much the opposite of Dixon, who puts on muscle super easy.

A big decision for us is do we go tall with 12, 18 or both?

An analysis of our last 10 drafts shows we have only twice in 10 years gone tall inside #20-

Butcher 2009- #8
Marshall 2016- #16th

Both were once in the frame for a top 5. Both can be considered sliders.

Two other times we have picked a big guy with our first pick (which was after #20)-

Howard 2014-#56
Hayes 2017-#47

On the basis of this analysis, I can't see us taking 2 talls inside #20. One at best. I have no idea who is the better prospect- Worrell or McAsey but you'd expect we take one of them, if available. Jackson seems very unlikely as we are flush for ruckmen.

Yes and no ruckman like Jackson is worth a top 20 pick.

AFL Draft Central has released their Draft Guide. After Rowell and Anderson at 1 and 2, they have Green at 3-8, and then the following players ranked 3-10:

Serong
Young
Ash
Flanders

Next rung is Dylan Stephens who is ranked a little lower at 3-12...then it's Luke Jackson and Brodie Kemp at 6-15.

All we need is for two clubs to pick a bolter like Cody Weightman (8-15), Devon Robertson (8-20) or Worrell (10-20)...or bid on Liam Henry (12-20) before 10 and Kemp could be ours. They didn't even list McAsey because he didn't test at the combine - he's another one that could go before our pick.

The dream is real.

yes It is a big decision for us to make … re going tall (for the first two picks) in this draft

to help we might need to look at this fact - regarding the number of Midfielders coming in from the father son & NGA academies

2019 - Trent Burgoyne - Wing
2019 - Jackson Mead - Midfield / HFF
2020 - Taj Schofield - Midfield / HFF
2020 - Noah Wilson - ????
2021 - Lauchlan Jones - Midfield / HBF
2021 - Jace Burgoyne - Wing
2021 - Will Francou - possible Mid
2021 - Tex Wanganeen - Utility (also can be picked up by the Bombers)
2022 - Harper Montgomery * ????
2023 - Oliver Francou - possible mid
2024 - Ky Burgoyne - Midfield - (also can be picked up by the Hawks)
2024 - Ben Francou - possible mid

to add to our midfield - SPP, Wines, Amon, Duursma, Atley, Drew etc

we also have
good young 6 small forwards - (Rozee, Farrell, Cox, Woodcock, Butters, Patmore)
a number of small defenders - Houston, Burton, DBJ, Garner, Bonner,
and 3 good ruckmen - (Lycett, Ladhams, Hayes)

so that leaves KPP

we only have Clurey & Grundy down back and Marshall & Buzza up forward …

and it seams we are very light on KPF

Oh, and they rate Bergman 10-25, so my picking him with 18 wasn't that big a deal. This is what they say about him:

A late bloomer this season after overcoming injury, Bergman has that touch of X-factor about him when forward. He is strong overhead with a penetrating kick, able to make things happen inside 50 and do a lot of damage to opposition sides. Bergman needs to build his consistency further and have more impact when not having it all his own way such as accumulating through the midfeld, but has a good scope for the future.

Draft publication based in Victoria overrates Vic prospects

Stop the press!

I'd bite. Mostly in defence.

#58 Emerson Jeka
Western Jets/Vic Metro | Key Forward/Defender
18/09/2001 | 198cm | 90kg

On upside, Jeka is a lot higher, but it is just piecing all of his traits together for some consistency. He is an elite contested mark, is virtually an eight-second flat agility test and near three seconds 20m sprint candidate. This athleticism is something rare in players of his size, but the inconsistencies of the past few years, as well as finding his best position – between forward and back – means he is still a raw prospect who has to develop. Given his traits, if he can be put to work and learn off a more aggressive mentor at an AFL club, then he will add more to his game. He has the physicality to really worry opposition defenders when leading out, it is just showing it on a more consistent basis. His best is winning a game off his own boot, but it just happens in seldom, so the best is yet to come from the Western Jets tall.

Hey, remember that Dougal Howard trade that you fully supported where we also traded out 10 for 12, despite the fact that Dougal was contracted for three years and we held all the bargaining power?

Maybe we wouldn't have needed to rely on other clubs reaching on a couple of bolters to get your mate Kemp if the administration you continue to support wasn't so incompetent.

Yeah it feels really indefensible when the difference between 10 & 12 could be Stephens or Kemp and not Stephens or Kemp.

He will be added back tomorrow, something went wrong there as he was meant to be in the 30 to watch and their is only 29 haha
