Now that we know we’re playing at home in the blue and white hoops on May 24th (Round 10), any guesses as to who our opponent might be?

It won’t be the Crows because we’re wearing the prison bars against them and we play St Kilda in China the week after.
The Baby Blue guernsey is very light, so if the paranoia at the AFL continues re clash colours, we wont be playing an away team that wears white, so expect us to play a team that has a home guernsey that is a dark colour base, or maybe mainly red like Sydney inc red shorts, or GC.

Maybe.

Are we more likely to get a hard draw that will mean Hinkley is no chance of surviving or an easy draw that might mean we scrape into 8th?
Ignoring back to back travel games and 6 day breaks gemes, we will get either 1 or 2 double up games against the top 6 teams, either 3 or 2 double up games against the middle 6, and 1 against the bottom 6 sides.

In 2019 we played Richmond 3rd the 1st-6th 2018 teams twice, North 9th, Crows 11th the 7th-12th 2018 teams twice, and Brisbane 14th and Freo 15th the 13th-18th 2018 teams.

I reckon this year we will get WCE as the WA double up team, as Freo has been the WA double up team the last 2 years, which means probably one more top 6 team as a double up game.

I feel like you can almost guarantee the blue and white hoops game will be versus Collingwood, allowing Collingwood and the AFL more ammunition that "Collingwood had black and white first you are just guests in our league".

The article doesn't say why not. But no doubt there must be at least one Victorian team in any Friday night game...

Adelaide Crows and Port Adelaide put in their fixture requests — but Friday night Showdown seems a long shot

Port Adelaide’s 150th anniversary is set to earn the Power some favourable fixtures in season 2020.
But a Friday night Showdown is considered to be unlikely next year.

The 2020 season fixtures are expected to be released next week, however clubs are yet to see any draft schedules of the coming AFL season.
...

But it is understood a Friday night Showdown will remain unlikely next season, despite persistent calls in Adelaide for the fierce rivalry to get the prime-time TV spot.

I want us to stay away from Friday nights as much as possible next season because of Hinkleyball.

If we couldn't get a Friday night showdown after 2018, with the Motlop last minute finish and Jenkins hitting/not hitting the post, and all the drama and storylines they could run with after that, then there's no way we are getting one this year when both teams are going to be a ******* rabble.

We'll get Hawthorn v Collingwood in prime time till the end of time though, even when they're both s**t.

Port v Lions (Sun, Feb 23, Moreton Bay) and Bulldogs (Sat, March 7, Whyalla)

+ deck chair post - Can see Ken starting the year in a deck chair in Moreton Bay - it's an Omen
LOL Motreton Bay sounds so much better than Burpengary or Caboolture where the stadium actually is.

No preseason Showdown listed

But I’m guessing there’ll be another U23 trial match, like the one earlier this year at Thebarton Oval

Hopefully it’s at Alberton this time
Makes good sense to play a trial like this each year.
