If we can I'd like to match, we can trade up the picks we'd get to a higher pick than what Band 1 will be, or we can make a serious play for one of their youngsters (if we can convince them to want to come here), would love to rectify the decision to not take Clark

Obvious you would expect us to match to get the best deal possible

The trouble is if he goes to Geelong, they do not have much to offer apart from picks do they? I suppose they could give you Jordan Clark plus picks(high/dam good picks).

Could get Treloar from Pies. I have a feeling Pies might think Treloar is clashing with Adams in terms of roles so he might be getting pushed out by Pies like he thinks as they look to get my output from their list inputs especially when some see Adams as a future captain at Pies and they are looking longer term

Hopefully the Pies can offer him a good deal and we can match and trade

I cant really see the point of matching because none of our first rounders are higher than what the free compo pick from the afl would be so its really in neither clubs interest to make that pick disappear.

I suspect if there were to be any deal it would revolve around you taking the compo pick and then a side trade where we either trade you a first rounder for a player who is worth a lesser pick than that (ie fringe player) or we do some sort of pick swap thats in your favour..that makes more sense for both clubs.

I do hope it works out well for GWS though i think as a club they cop more flak from neutrals than they deserve.

Thank you, I also feel we cop more than we deserve but it comes with what we had and how we failed to achieve anything.

It'll be interesting what happens, I still think your two firsts hold more value than just the one Band 1 pick, so that could be a deal we pursue, or maybe this opens the door to you trading two of those first rounders with Carlton and giving us 7?

Although it's not like us to stand in the way of a player wanting to leave so I still think it's more likely we don't match

What are your first rounders?? Jordan Clark would have to come to, a top pick from you would not be enough but more than compo.

Combinations of first rounders and Jordan Clark one would think otherwise Collingwood might have a better chance unless he remains at GWS.

Whats compo for GWS, around pick 8?? Want more than that for Cameron

We're not trading Clark, let alone with any first-round picks.

If we're offering more than GWS offered I don't see why they'd match instead of letting him go and just taking a nice compo pick.

Shit, that makes it easy, Cameron aint going to Geelong and in two years your window is done.

all sorted

You realise if Cameron where to go to Geelong he would want a short contract because he would not want to get pidgeon holed there once Geelong decline. Generally Geelongs list is pretty old

Our window has been done for 10yrs now.

You can't just name random players that have no interest in leaving their team for another team just because you think that's how trades work.

Thats Jordan's Clark's perogative, just don't regard Cameron an imbecile to think Geelong is not about to struggle shortly like Hawthorn, Sydney and North from top ups.

By the way , your list was not done, you had a younger Selwood and Hawkins with a generational player in Paddy coming in on the cheap to alter your window temporarily. Who is your next Danger to sell the long term to Cameron?

Surely you don't think we're anywhere close to where those 3 teams are?

Also, didn't the Suns take Compo for Lynch? Why would this be different?

Honestly if all clubs were measured purely by premierships most clubs would be basketcases. Most supporters just blame you because they didnt like you being set up but that was the afls (correct) call and they dont see the bigger picture. Besides you guys havent had the cultural dramas gc had you have always created a good culture and only lost players for cap reasons (which is no shame).

Back to the topic i think a match would be unlikely..i know its a small point but your compo would be back to back picks (9 and 10) and that gives you good power to address draft needs o doubt your list managers would want to give that up unless they get overruled by someone higher up the chain. Especially given the albeit small risk that if you match he either stays or it ends up in a draft scenario.

What would make more sense is if you match and then a side trade occurs. For example we trade 13 for a player we like that you want to offload (so long as the player isnt worth pick 100 i doubt the afl intervene) or we trade say 13 for later picks from you (this is essentially what the dogs will do with trading down 12 for points so unless the trade is crazily uneven in terms of points the afl cant really do anything) either scenario to me gives both clubs a better outcome than they would get if the compo pick of 10 disappears.

Either way you have a good forward line and i reckon you will do well long term.

Richmond are way stronger than Geelong in the next ten years when we got Lynch than Geelong will be now. Pretty sure we paid more for Lynch to

You should be thankful West Coast paid a stupid price for Kelly

Lol. Look at you go. Happy to take Tom Lynch for nothing, but take the moral high ground here. Why are you on here anyway?? Nothing to do with Tigers fans

We did not take Lynch for nothing. Danger was cheaper

You should be thankful we gave you Ottens!!!

you think all teams are living in a vacuum??
