He may well go.Look, I just think if he was waiting for something like that and that he wants to stay he would come out publicly and say it.
It's all over the news everywhere about his contract and not a peep from Cameron or the Giants
We just have to accept that he will be wearing hoops next year. The only reason for the delay is that they are playing finals still.
I love Jezza and it's going to be very very hard to watch

My view in similar to GWS Goose - the Cats' message today seemed to be a pitch to Jezza, not a statement of success. But Jezza is obviously tempted to go there, so no guarantee we win the battle for his services. He might be waiting for the final TPP outcome - or even Jye Caldwell's decision to stay or go - to eke out as much as he can in the GWS contract. From the news reports, he does seem a bit motivated by the money he lost this year in the COVID salary cut.
I remain with fingers crossed.

Now I wanna know what our trade with Carlton there is, are they taking another second year player from us?

GWS is considering matching Geelong’s offer for Jeremy Cameron if the key forward exercises his rights as a restricted free agent and nominates the Cats. The Giants believe Cameron wants to stay but is torn on his next move. The Cats have three first round picks and GWS would ask for at least two of these selections if they match Geelong’s bid. Foxfooty.com.au understands Cameron caught up with GWS chief executive Dave Matthews and Channel 7 boss James Warburton on Wednesday in Sydney. The Giants are hopeful of receiving an official answer within days.

This is actually huge. Having the Channel 7 executive there is interesting.
They have clearly offered him something. A fishing show, something after footy, or something to top his wage up.
And then having Stevie J in there too.
Very interesting

Wouldn't say it is a conflict of interest. It is a competitive advantage that is probably unfair. But no more unfair than a big Melbourne club selling the big MCG clashes or interstate clubs dealing with the go home factor or a million other inequities that exist.I'm sorry, isn't this a massive conflict of interest? What business does the Channel 7 boss have being at a meeting between GWS representatives and Cameron?

The same channel 7 that paid the wages of Dermie when he was playing in Sydney. Sure, it was another era, but it’s not just the AFL that wants a strong national competition to maximise profits.I'm sorry, isn't this a massive conflict of interest? Can't say I've ever heard of the Foxtel or Seven Melbourne boss attending a player meeting to influence proceedings. It's not a good look for your club, if that's the kind of crap you have to pull to retain players.
I've heard of the head of the Nine Network showing up to player meetings, several of which suddenly started appearing on his network when they joined his club. I've also heard of nice deals handed out by Frank Costa to players who ended up joining Geelong, not to mention Visy sponsorships, and so many other kick backs that players get to head back to Victoria. It's nice for the shoe to be on the other foot for a change, as long as it's all above board with third party deals.
Get off ya high horsebut when it's so blatant like it was today, it really does a disservice to the brand of your club.

You are joking right?Yes but that is after the fact. Once a player is under contract, then there's no conflict of interest as there's no other club competing for their services. I'm sure Coniglio has some form of ambassador role that he's paid for, which I have no issue with. I do however, find it extremely odd for a network executive to attend a meeting and offer other deals to sway a decision.
I don't think this is something you should be defending, as it is not a good look for your club and really gives merit to whole 'Gil's plastic franchise' notion that has come about in recent times. I've always defended this as paranoia and hysteria, but when it's so blatant like it was today, it really does a disservice to the brand of your club.

Its a great look if you follow the Giants. Great to see we are pulling out all stops to keep our best players. Really don't care what other supporters think or feel.
