Yep. We get pick 8 either way.

I havent done the math, but I think the Giants need to win by ~12 goals I think to get into the 8 and also need the Dees to win by less than 5 goals.

Something ridiculous like that.

It wont happen.

EDIT

A GWS win and Dees loss would lock a position in the 8.

Worth revisiting the footballing insights from Sam Maclure - dated 18 August 2020

Carlton
Gold Coast (TIO), Collingwood (G), Giants (MS), Sydney (MS), Adelaide (MS), Brisbane Lions (TBC)
Although they sit 12th on the ladder, the Blues have a pretty healthy percentage and that may be vital come the final rounds. Will probably have to win two of their next three but should get Jack Martin and Mitch McGovern back during that time. Should be knocking on the door.
Predicted finish: 8th

J.McGovern was looking like a 3-4 week hamstring after scans. He may still be available for finals

Kiss of death on his own side lol.

Why?

Teams that finished first the minor round have only won flags in two of the past 10 years - in 2010 and 2013.

Brisbane about to fall on thier knees. So there will be no home ground advantage at the gf.

Port training at alberton, eating at home, amongst thier supporter base. Thier community hurting. Richmond and geelong living in a covid bubble. A gf at the gabba, will be a new experience for them. Port will Fly in from thier homes. Will get hot steamy Nights with thier partners before leaving, after training at a packed alberton. They have a massive advantage. They've played a few times, fly in, fly out this year.

They are showing mongrel, they know what's in front of them.

It was really sad, on thier 150 anniversary night, after lots of planning the ceo and chairman, with thier wives, in the alberton car park , drinking champagne against liquor licensing laws and breaking social distancing, or funny, depends which way you look at it. They will draw on that.

Geelong and Richmond starting to show signs of fatigue, like brisbane. Where port seem to be just about to hit top gear.

The writing is not just on the wall, the Manuscript for the Movie at editing.

Money to be made here.

They got West Coast and Richmond at the right time and thrashed by the other contenders in Brisbane and Geelong.

They weren't thrashed by geelong. They never tagged dangerfield and he ripped them a new one. Hawkins Played the best game s ff has played. In along time. Hawkins saw a fair bit of bench time that game, dangerfield went to Ff. Geelong were Ordinary. Ports system better. When geelong kicked the first of the last, port gave up.

None of these things will happen in a gf. Geelong will be fatigued living in a covid bubble by the time the gf comes around. This will Play into Ports hand, with thier game style.

Jury is out on brisbane, they're fatigued and haven't tasted any heat like what's coming in the first final.

Aren’t the clubs outside of the bubble still not allowed to intermingle with the public. Thought that was one of the rules to ensure a level of fairness.

The rest is pure dribble.

Being the minor premier brings added pressure which this side has on numerous occasions failed massively.

I'm not sure if this has been brought up.

Former Adelaide Crows favourite Eddie Betts has revealed he was questioned by police while driving a car he won for kicking goal of the year in an in-depth interview that will be published this weekend.

FIVEaa Breakfast’s David Penberthy spoke on Friday about the interview that will appear in Saturday’s Weekend Australian, written by Greg Bearup:

“He’s done the most remarkable interview with Eddie Betts. It’s harrowing stuff, some of it is just jaw-dropping,” Penbo said.
“There’s been a lot of discussion over the last few months about the Black Lives Matter movement and a lot of people have this instinctive ‘Why are we jumping on board Black Lives Matter here in Australia?’ There are things that Eddie has told Greg Bearup that make you understand why it is that indigenous people feel an affinity to what has been seen and done to black people in the United States.
“Eddie tells this amazing story in this article that’s in The Australian’s magazine tomorrow about how the very first time he won goal of the year he won a car. The very first time he was driving that car he got pulled over by the police. They said, ‘Where did you get this car from, mate?’ He said, ‘I won it,’ and the cop goes, ‘Yeah mate, nice try – where’d you get it from?’ He said, ‘I won the car in a football competition, I play Australian rules football. I won goal of the year…’
“Just extraordinary,” Penbo said.
“I think it’s a bit of a blind and unthinking white person’s position to ignore genuine stories from such great people as Eddie Betts and say all this is irrelevant. It is not irrelevant.”

Did he win his first goal of the year with us, or did he win one at Carlton?

If it's here, I hope the press are chasing Grant Stevens for a please explain.

Either way that is disgraceful conduct from that cop.

Nah he won one back in 2006 with the blues, so I guess it would be that one.
