Don't be a dickhead.

I am entitled to be disappointed on Higgins if Stephenson is exciting.
Your constant whinging and moaning is tiring. And then you resort to pathetic name calling.

Why don’t you come back when you have grown up.

Please pardon my ignorance, new poster, but wouldn't option 2 and picking up pick 14, be highly dependent on what the Bulldogs get for Dunkley? If they get one of the * top 10 picks wouldn't they be better off trading that out before it gets absorbed by the JUH pick and then trying to trade back up after he is theirs?
The AFL changed the rules when Sydney did just that. You can no longer trade back up after you pay for academy prospects.

North Melbourne’s decision to trade matchwinner Shaun Higgins was justified by a quality trade haul as the Roos attempt to lure Rising Star Jaidyn Stephenson to Arden St.

The Roos will emerge from Thursday's trade deadline with the quality draft hand they were so desperate to amass, having traded Higgins to Geelong for pick 30.

Higgins was contracted and one of the club’s most accomplished players, but securing such a quality pick will allow the Roos to find a potential 150-gamer in return.

As the Herald Sun revealed last month, Higgins will get back his family home in Geelong as he and his partner prepare to welcome twins in coming months.

The Roos are considering an official Melbourne trade package for Ben Brown that could see them secure the No.26 draft selection.

The Demons will hand Brown a four-year deal and while the trade would involve a range of pick swaps, it is likely to involve an early selection. Melbourne has picks 26, 31 and 33 so has ample trade fodder to get that deal done.

If the Roos acquired pick 26 it would leave them with a draft hand of 2, 11, 26, 28 and 30, with the club also open to trading its No.2 overall selection for multiple top-12 picks.

But the Stephenson interest is the most intriguing for the Kangaroos, who have in recent years failed to secure a host of big-name targets.

The 2018 Rising Star winner is seriously considering the overture from the Roos, well aware of their fleet of talented youngsters including Nick Larkey, Cam Zurhaar, Tarryn Thomas, Jy Simpkin, Luke Davies-Uniacke.

It would be a feather in the cap of the club’s list management team in Scott Clayton and Glenn Luff to drag him from Collingwood without the Roos having a senior coach.

The two parties would have to haggle over whether the Pies paid some of Stephenson’s $550,000-plus deal that runs to 2023.

I think there's a guy called Kevin Bartlett who played 400 games doing that; might be mistaken
Bartlett also had another 350 odd games running around the forward line not hand balling to anyone. Bit different to Stepho sitting at the back of packs unmanned.

**** me!
Did I just read a complimentary article about our club?!

think I like it better the other way.

F*** yeah. The kid was a beast in his first season (a grand final season no less), then did a kid thing and made a bet and then the next year got glandular fever.

It's sad that he can need a change of scenery so quickly but through some fault of his own and some dumb luck if that is what we are a chance to be then I'll welcome him with open arms.

Let's see I guess.

I welcome him but I don't agree with how we've traded (purely my view)
