I hope we stand firm and not be push overs in this trading period.
Melbourne got pick 31 for Preuss. They'll probably offer that for Brown.

If I recall properly, Preuss was under contract, and we sent him to Melbourne for Dom Tyson AND we still had to give them a sweetener of pick 62. It seemed a bad deal at the time, and it still is.

Melbourne have picks 26, 31, 33, 43, 50.
If we don't get at least picks 26 and 31 for Brown, it's another bad trade by us.

Also reported we rejected Geelong's pick 38 for Higgins.
I'd rather keep him than have that pick.
Geelong have picks 13, 15, 20, 38, 96.
They are going to have to send 15 and 20 to GWS for Cameron, and probably want to keep pick 13. GWS have 10, 44, 52... they might send 44 back?
So the best Geelong can offer is will be 38, 44, 96. Even a combination of those is bad.

The only way I can see us "winning" is we can somehow get pick 14 from the Bulldogs, as they will have to use it anyway on their academy player. That's 1161 points. If we can end up with:
2, 11, 26 (Melb), 28, 31 (Melb), 38 (Geel), 70, 71

26 - 729 points, 28 - 677 points and give them to the Bulldogs for #14, then we could end up with 2, 11, 14, 31, 38.

We need to try to get as many picks as we can in the top 20, and hope we can get 2 or 3 200 game players.

What if we get pick 31 from the GoDees as part of the Brown trade then send 31 plus Higgins to the Cats for pick 20?

That would give us 2, 11, 20, 26, 28, 70, and 71.

As you have suggested 26 & 28 get offered to the Dogs for 14. That would leave us with 2, 11, 14, 20, 70 & 71.

I want Stephenson so mostly everyone can shut the **** up about who we should have taken with pick 4 in 2017. Shit get Dow too, there will be nothing left to post about.

Don't forget Big Eddie, that self proclaimed intrepid newshound, sat on Collingwood's salary cap bombshell while Caroline Wilson unmercifully attacked North on Footy Classified. I'm more than happy for them to keep Stephenson and their salary cap woes.
Yeah but if we can take advantage of the situation, get a decent player on the cheap, while they lose the player and still feel some pain, I'm all for it.

We have the higher number of threads of any supporter base on here in the history of BF. Oh there'll be something to post about!

Happy with that! If we managed to snag him and Hollands in the National draft, our core midfield would be close to set for the next decade.

Buckley's game plan murders forwards.

He's a lot better than what he has shown, and he hasn't been utilised properly.

Doesn't anyone else think it's odd that the only team to reportedly be speaking with Stevo, is us? If he was that gettable, wouldn't other clubs with better prospects (at least in the short term) be into him?

We were really into him in 2017, but LDU was available...

We seem to have plenty of cap space which needs to be spent one way or another.

Might sound like a silly question but can’t we use some of that as draft currency for Stephenson? Like offer to help out Collingwood by picking up the contract but they get a higher pick instead of what he’s worth.

or is that considered tampering?

Nope and that’s probably exactly what Brady will do.

We’ll take Stevo off your hands and pay all his salary but for a future 2nd or 3rd only. If they say no then good luck with your ****ed up cap.

Jesus Christ this has to be a joke

Who has turnstiles replaced?
Not sure but I believe he’ll be working alongside Sam Gibson.

We're going to ask Larkey to be the number one forward, though. At the same age, Petrie was third banana behind Nathan Thompson and Sav Rocca.

I have faith in the kid, but it's a big ask.
Drew spent a fair bit of time at CHB as well though in his early years so not necessarily a fair direct comparison.

draft in Tackleberry for some midfield pressure or is he too similar to Zurhaar? Hightower as a rookie ruckman??

I'd be very keen to find a spot for that dude who can make all those different noises with his mouth. Would've also taken Bobcat Goldthwaite if he was still alive.
