Taking a spot away from a young kid who is actually pushing for a spot in the best 22.
Send him back to the state leagues and see if he can get another birth in a different squad.
He's had his chances at North.
The fact that none of our seniors who were delisted actually got offered a spot means they probably weren't good enough to play on our side either.
I think that sums it up. Wood had plenty of opportunities - he either consistently underperformed or just wasn’t good enough. He seems a nice guy so I hope he gets a chance somewhere else.

i want to keep pick 2 also however the club have not ruled it out officially, therefore the article is not accurate.
I expect it's negotiation by media. All 17 clubs know the form for dealing with *. They will inevitably act like arsehats til the last second. They have probably offered pick 8 for our pick 2, 11 and future first and will put up a halfway reasonable live trade with 30 seconds left.

Yep , I can’t see a situation where we aren’t offered a crazy deal when our pick rolls around on draft night . It’s a matter of if we make the move or not .

I actually feel sorry for Mason Wood. I like him. I'd like to see him get another chance, even under David Noble.

Hearing him interviewed on SEN, made me sad. Still sounds like a North player.

Surely a rookie spot, wouldn't be so bad?

Im not unhappy about the speculation that pick 2 is off the table. Let them come to us with offers.....in the absence of they can watch us grab one of the best 2 or 3 kids in the country.........just not sure about Thilthorpe......sort of brings on a speech impediment when you pronounce it.

Im convinced he’s a full blown narcissist actually.

He’s just run with the following statement 😂

“It's an inexact science, and clubs are far from optimised list managers, or recruiters. Particularly when I can as a single man recruiting team have a better record over the last 20 years with the selections and non selections of key position players I rate inside my top-20 than clubs draft in those ranges.”
I keep thinking about this post. It's so funny. You don't have a record, mate. You've never picked a single player in your life. You just do a fantasy version of it online.

Other good draft watchers don't act like they actually draft players because they know they don't. It's the biggest difference between them and recruiters. If you put together a phantom you don't actually make a decision. It's making a decision with real life ramifications that actually makes a good recruiter impressive. Recruiters have skin in the game, draft watchers don't. If you yell at the quarter back when you watch NFL and call out plays that don't happen but that you think would be better that doesn't make you a quarterback.

I'm still amazed he is old enough to have done phantom drafts for twenty years! Unless, of course, he is including when he redoes drafts from 10+ years back. Not hard to have a good strike rate then.

Mitch Hibberd interviewed:
https://www.sen.com.au/news/2020/12...g-to-fulfil-untapped-potential-at-third-club/

Hibberd was asked whether he got enough opportunities to play in his preferred inside midfield role at the Bombers.

“To be honest with you, not at all. It doesn’t really sit that well with me either,” he said.

“I just feel like I never got the best out of myself. I went back and did it the hard way and got drafted a second time as a big-bodied mid.

“Went to the Bombers and there probably wasn’t really a spot there for that and then I just ended up playing on a wing and half-forward.

“Hopefully other clubs can see what I was able to do at VFL level and what I was able to do at AFL level this year - albeit out of position and not really using my strengths.

“There’s so much untapped potential with me that if a team were willing to give me a chance, I think I could surprise a lot of people.”

Hibberd has nine AFL games next to his name – five with Essendon and four with North Melbourne.

I've vouched that this guy works really hard on his conditioning. But that's essentially the same result for him at 2 clubs now.

I think I've worked it out.

He comes from an incredibly stupid family who aren't educated, every time he sits down at Dinner time, he wows them with something he's managed to remember from news,com.au. And this delusion has carried on throughout his early adult life and now, when faced with people who are able to use google or even better, have actually studied economics, he is in this conundrum of being found out to be the fraud he is, or double down with the Narcism and baseless attacks/head in the sand (as Pykie mentioned). Some of the financial stuff he was going on about was fanciful and nonsensical.

All credit to him for getting the ESPN gig, I like to see young bucks doing well, but an iota of personal analysis that wasn't blatant plagiarism wouldn't go astray.

For a Draft Watcher, I guess putting your balls on the line is doing a Mock Draft 1 month out and not updating it 3 days from the Draft... something i'm not sure he's ever considered.

I'm sure we would offer Wood a VFL spot.
He has the engine and the space to thrive in the VFL. Won’t do anything for most of the game but will bob up and kick 3-4.

I almost think its better for the club if he doesn't play for us anymore.
Let someone else take him on. Would be hard for the guy knowing he'd never make the seniors again and still playing with the North guys.

Sometimes he might, perhaps kick 3 or 4 but he has played lots of VFL and has hardly dominated, had a heck of a lot of very average games. Just appears to not try hard all the time. Not a great attribute.

Watch the calls come in when MacDonald is available at pick 2.

He hasn't bothered with a mock this year.

Power Rankings only.

Watch the mock draft drop online the minute after Cal Twomey's final mock does.
