At some point all clubs need to decide if matching a bid is their best move. Could be communicated to the players prior as well, along the lines of If you are there after the third round,we will grab you,

I think if both get bid on at the end of the first round it would be bad for us. First bid would wipe out our second round pick, and the next bid would become a deficit on next year's first round pick.

Exactly, but what happens if no bid by our second, and we only have 2 more list spots?

I expect a player like Giro might be finding himself on the rookie list as extra primary list protection for a reason like that.

The way the contract rules go are that if we delist a contracted player with the intention of adding them to the rookie list and then someone else picks them up, we don't have to pay them out.

They go on the rookie list and only their contracted salary above that of a later round standard contract is in the salary cap.

Seems if you cancel within a day then you get a refund of $27 That's not ideal.

All games live, Fox Footy 24/7, archived games and documentary features.

and pleasingly of those players, the only one who we've invested any significant number of games likely to get cut this season is Banfield, everyone else has played a handful at most (jones, giro) or looks like they've got potential to be part of the side for years to come. (side note don't remember strandica getting a game?)
