What is the predicted range that Western is likely to attract a bid?
https://afl.draftcentral.com.au/2020/09/07/draft-central-power-rankings-september-2020/ has Brandon (24) going before Western (outside the top 25 due to injury but dropping)
Cal didn't say anything about either in his top 25 this month. https://www.afl.com.au/news/493042/cal-twomey-s-2020-phantom-form-guide-september-update

Consequently I think at the moment we can go with Round 2 or later for both.

Sweet, I'm there. Who shall I look out for?
East Freo
In our NGA #9 Brandon Walker, #7 Chris Walker, #13 Keanu Haddow
Other Draft Prospects this year - #8 Finn Gorringe
Prospects for future drafts - #4 Jed Hagan, #3 Corey Warner, #17 Taj Woewodin

Subiaco
#22 Blake Morris, #41 Tyler Brockman, #12 Matthew Johnson (I think I might be missing a couple)

You win a prize if you find a player out there for either team not related to a current or former AFL player :) Slight exaggeration but you will notice a lot of familiar names.

Thanks 😊 (Doh, I meant Walker, not Western, but appreciate the info in both).

What do you mean Western is dropping? As in rated lower because of injury?

Cal called him out as his stocks are rising in the pod today.

Rising? Dropping? Depends perspective.

His stocks are rising as various armchair selectors reevalute his performances in the wake of his recovery.
The pick he is likely to go at is dropping for the same reason.

Not sure he will go before the start of the second round but that depends on how many NGA/FS picks are taken in teh first round. If you add the numbers speculated, compo picks included, we could go close to a 30 pick first round. In which case he is close to end round 1. I think that picks 25-35 are about right for B Walker and Weston. C Walker seems to be further back.

This may narrow closer to draft day as the armchair brigade hypes the latest batch of draftee's.

The round that western or Walker are bid in is important actually. If we didn’t have enough points to match and a bit came before the end of the first round, we would be back in the same position as this year with our first round pick having a deficit attached. I could live with a deficit on our second rounder next year but not our first..

We have 6 weeks or whatever to trade picks in to cover and then if we are desperate or the bid comes earlier than anticipated on the day we can live trade after the bid comes. I don't think it is remotely an issue unless we are completely incompetent.

I think there is a bit of recency bias in our two main academy boys rising up the rankings.

In the absence of above average testing results at the combine don't be surprised if Walker isn't bid on before 35/40 and Western gets all the way to Round 4+ Rookie.

I think they go later rather than earlier but they have attributes that could attract mid range bids, Walker especially, and especially this year where they have actual exposed form.

Not sure if I’m missing something, but Nicholas Cox is pidgeon holed at a KPD but he looks pretty good up Forward as well.

Maybe the FWD/Ruck option with some development time.

Some of the footage is old but the newer material at the end is seriously good.

I’ve not watched him live but at 199cm he looks very athletic and quick.

I agree. Zach Reid too. Both are good footballers by the looks and sounds of it and at 200cm and mobile with versatility, they could very well become forward/ruck talents.

He reminds me of Tanner Smith; but yes wouldn't surprise to see these Cox or Reid in the targets depending on what is available at our first pick.

Just some thoughts.

The kid seem to hit a lot of targets (even under pressure) and can run.

I am thinking "Kouta" a tall winger who can pinch hit in the ruck.

I would be very happy with him at our first round pick.

We've discussed Cox here before comparing his frame in his underage year to that of the the King twins to guess how much physical development he has because he is absolutely a baby giraffe that can play football.

Think you might be on to something. We have a vacancy in the #23 jumper. And who doesn't want two Cox instead of just one?

Sucks that we haven't been able to see them play this year :(

massive upside, and a tall mobile wing who in time could transition to a KPP would be a great addition to our list.

Seems to be good off either foot. Looks like a right footer but took a set shot with the left.
