Wow. Crazy first round! Disappointed Sheldrick not there for our picks because I thought he would be the value pick of the second round. He will definitely suit the SCG!

I guess the sliders thing is all relative because as much as it will be good to get the guys still available, we don't get a look at the Chessers, Alleers and the Sheldricks.

The weird one for me so far is definitely Johnson. Maybe there is something in that because he looks to have alot of tools and upside.

As we saw many surprises in the second half of the first round, I think it's possible we see more in the coming round.

Freo to take Warner might be the next one.
I see Arthur Jones going higher than expected, Richmond's picks my bet.

I would like another mid and a forward with our two early picks. Johnson, Sonsie, Goater, Knevitt in that order and Butler or Draper. Wouldn't be disappointed with Bozzo either. I'm keen to trade next years second for one of the Tiges picks as well so we tick all boxes.

Johnson would be a good pickup but wouldn’t Be disappointed if we missed out . He’s obviously not rated as high as Ward , Callaghan etc otherwise a midfielder of that size one of the WA teams would’ve grabbed him by now . They know exactly what’s going on in their own backyard better than anyone .

I was thinking about this aswell, my thought is the teams wanting to trade for that pick are like Lions, Port, Essendon and Dogs

Trade it for * future first and hope like f&$k they get the spoon next year

Colin Young management group is now a red flag to many clubs unfortunately for Matt Johnson.

Had a look on their website, are we really the only club that doesn’t have a single player managed by them?

Can’t recall what they’ve done to make a bad name for themselves off the top of my head but did find that interesting.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Freo go for Motlop as well. Both Freo and North both have connections to him. Really going to struggle sleeping until I know who we end up getting. Maybe my wife is right when she says I’m to invested in the HFC… nahhhh

Also, just take Howes at 26, and then when Callaghan wants to leave the Giants in two years, he can re-unite with his best mate. Plus Howes is a likely type.

If I was a betting man, I think we're taking Sonsie and Bazzo.

Yeah add Howes and Butler to the list.

Adding Sonsie will round out our young midfield group well enough - we'd have added two classy midfielders that compliment what we have: Worpel, Ward, Sonsie (?), the Duke, Maginess, Nash + Downie, Day and Bramble on the outside.

I can see Ward in our midfield rotation early next season and Sonsie could start on a HFF too.

If we can get Sonsie then I'm less interested in getting Taylor than I'd have otherwise been. IMO we could take a flier on Goater for that freak x-factor or bring in Gunston's replacement in Howes.

I suppose if North surprise us and take Sonsie then someone like Butler could play a similar role.

Think MacDonald is firmly in this next tier. Could go to Cats, us, or to the blues. Warner is also one to watch early in round 2.

North could definitely go needs first and look at a tall like Bazzo or a forward utility like Howes.

I think we are a big chance to land one of sonsie/Johnson if we want to

My hope pre-draft was for a big-bodied mid. With Johnson, Goater and Knevitt still available, we have options.

Plus I like Butler, a pressure forward who can play mid.

Any two from that group would be amazing.

With this much talent still on the table, this is a great time to strike. being able to also grab a Butler, Taylor, Draper, Knevitt, Goater would be huge.

Sonsie has got to be a bargain there. Assuming Johnson is gone by our pick. I heard prior to the draft he is a flight risk and would likely slide. Turned out that mail was on the money. Shouldn’t be an issue for freo though.

Geelong: Conway/Butler/Above
Hawthorn: One of Butler/Draper/Goater/Knevitt/Taylor/Bazzo (BPA order in my opinion)available. I'd think we're pretty set for this draft to be a big W in my book.
